No strop and paste combination I've ever used has matched the level of refined edge I can get with this system. It's great for taking the burr off after a full sharpening and just as good at honing a light to moderately dulled edge back to very sharp. This is true of both simple stainless steels like 440c and 14c28n all the way up to high carbide, complicated stainless steel formulas like S110V.My one complaint could be more my fault rather than the product: I have created two depression channels only noticeable when stropping straight edges or the straight portion of an edge; meaning I don't get full contact between the strop and the edge. There's a gap. Perhaps I have used too much pressure ( though I try not to ) or the wood backing or leather itself has been unevenly compressed along the path that the edge travels. This hasn't been an insurmountable issue as I just now run a given knife closer to the edge of the strop for the straight portion of whatever blade I am working. This of course means I will wear that portion of the stop unevenly now though. For blades that are mostly to all belly, these indentation channels don't matter at all. I still get screaming sharp, refined edges regardless. It just takes a little more attention. Even with light pressure, my strops get a lot of use so this could just be normal wear.I hesitate to give this product 4 stars as again, I'm not sure if the fault is mine or with the strop. One could just as easily take my 4 rating as a 5.Ultimately it's worth nothing that I will be buying another because it's that good of a strop and paste combination. This product is well worth the purchase.

This is the third strip I have gotten. The other two are a bit worn so I ordered this one from Lavoda.It came nicely packaged and contains two different compounds; a small green bar and a syringe with white paste which is a nice touch. It even has a short piece of paracord so you can hang the strop up. It appears to be quite well made with thick pieces of both fine and coarse leather; one on each side firmly attached to the wood. The leather is even labeled with coarse and fine for those who are unsure which side is which; however just looking and feeling the leather makes it pretty obvious which is either coarse or fine. The handle is also slightly contoured for a more comfortable grip.I have only used it a couple of times so far but have noticed the difference between this new strop and my other two used ones.I might just use the compounds on the older ones and keep this one pristine for that final stropping and polish.Can definitely recommend.

I'm into knives and this is a nice strop for sure and I have made and bought a few strops over the decades.Quality leather and nice wood with decent polishing coumpounds included.I'm happy and my knives are Too!.

Was nice, wood has now warped making it difficult to impossible to use. Do not recommend.

I use this strop on all my knives and it helps to keep them razor sharp. The size is perfect and it’s well made.

If you need a strop buy this one, quality through and through. It comes with compound for both the course and fine side which is nice, solid wood handle built like a ol wooden paddle brought back memories of my childhood 😆 and quality leather. What not to like!!
