No complaints. Seems like quality stuff. We use this on an exterior wall underneath our sheetrock wall to reduce outside noise. I believe it has been effective.

I couldn’t be happier with this mass loaded vinyl! I bought it to help with soundproofing a room and the difference is night and day. Before, I could hear every conversation and bit of noise from the next room. Now, it feels like I have real privacy. The material is dense but easy to cut. I installed it behind dry wall and also used a few pieces on a door. Both worked perfectly. What really impressed me is how much it reduces low-frequency noise like music bass or TVs, which were my biggest issues. Highly recommend.

I recently purchased Mass Loaded Vinyl 1.2lb to soundproof my home office, and I must say I am impressed with the results. Installation was a easy, I simply measured, cut, and adhered the Mass Loaded Vinyl to the walls of my workspace. The 1.2lb density really provides exceptional soundproofing without being overly bulky or difficult to work with. The difference in noise reduction is remarkable. I used to be constantly distracted by the sounds of traffic outside and neighbors, and my productivity suffered as a result. Now, the outside noise is virtually nonexistent. I can now work in a peaceful and quiet environment, free from disruptions. In terms of value for money, this product is worth every penny.

I purchased two rolls of these and so it 254.99 each so over $500 total for both. And prior to my purchasing it, my contractor purchased two more. So over $1000 for 4 rolls. Im upset to say that my contractors put them up as instructed and already put up the wall. It DOES NOT WORK. it muffles the words but if you can make out the words on the other side of the walls. We even doubled it. The description says its a soundproofing like in a club or movie room etc. I wanted to review this so that you DO NOT PURCHASE this. it does not work. I can't return it because my contractor used it and cut it and covered the wall already. This is false advertising.

I incompetently affixed this to my wall cut into various shapes as I am not a handyperson. The material is heavy but not hard to mount and can be affixed with pins. I have noticed some impressive reduction in noise, notwithstanding the unprotected spaces there are in between the various shapes.

The online information and the label on the product state size 5’ x 12.5’ and 50sf. This math is wrong. The product is actually 4’ x 12.5’ and it is 50 sf of material. The 5 foot width should be 4’. It’s a good value for the product but the label is wrong.

Have not installed this yet - it's a housewarming gift for my son-in-law. It covers 80 sq ft. He'll need to more perhaps. Not sure which room is going to be his studio in the new house. But like all situations, it's not my place to solve the kids' problems, just to show them the solution. This is the “Goldilocks” density: Heavy and durable enough to block serious low-frequency rumble (1.23 lb beats most 1-lb competitors), yet still flexible enough for one person to handle. At 1/8" thick it adds almost no bulk, so I stapled it directly to the joists, taped the seams with PVC tape, then hung Rockwool and drywall over it. External noise will drop roughly 18–20 dB across the board . Vocal takes that used to need heavy noise-reduction plugins can now be clean on the first pass. So, it will work well for noises coming in or going out. Cutting is easy with a fresh utility blade, and the material has almost no chemical smell (unlike some cheaper Chinese MLV that off-gasses for weeks). The roll arrived perfectly packed—no creases or tears. Easy installation. A couple of practical notes: it’s heavy (about 100 lbs total), so recruit a friend or use a roller to wrestle it into place overhead. Also buy extra seam tape; the 80 sq ft roll only covers one average room floor/ceiling if you overlap 2–3 inches. Great value for the money. For the price delivered, this Tönnen MLV outperforms name-brand sheets that cost double. If you’re treating a home studio, podcast booth, or nursery and need real low-end blocking without turning the room into a bank vault, this is the smartest money I’ve spent on acoustics. Period.
