So. Got this as a gift - he loves it. Hours of fun.

They are well made and compatible with Lego. My son enjoys playing with them, since Lego don't make any soldier/war related sets.

We all know these are not meant for adults so some of the negative reviews are a little baffling, alright the instructions are pretty much useless but nothing took long to work out how to put together so no real drama, you get so much here that any of the Lego military sets will get a big upgrade in the soldiers fortunes, they come in a plain box which seems a missed opportunity but that is a minor gripe, for the sheer amount of parts supplied I think the price is very reasonable as comparable Lego parts would be far more expensive to purchase.

The mortar works well and so do the machine guns, the amo belt brick when I tried to put it together. The motorcycle wasn’t buildable and it was a struggle building the cannon. The silver paint on the guns comes off, leaving sparkling debris behind.

The nephew is in his "military phase" and when I handed him the box that this set came in he was absolutely happy. It was full of weapons such as guns, swords, knives, there was a bike to make up. a stretcher, sandbags, helmets, etc., etc. Then, I watched as it dawned on him that these were compatible with Lego, so away he went digging though his many, many, MANY toy boxes for Lego minifigs to build his armies! At first I thought this set was fairly poor, particularly for the price, but, as I sat building various items for him, I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this set it. The pieces are well made, yes some bits were missing - a small part to help fit a wheel to the bike side car, the flag post, but you can easily fashion parts from the plastic frames that you pop parts out of. Plus, as it is compatible with Lego, you may already have parts which fit. Seriously, I can't express just how happy the kid was with this set. He declared it to be the best set ever! So who am I to complain?

If you are familiar with them you will also know that they don't produce any war based toys for ethical reasons. So if you are looking to put together a WWII build, or any military based one, you will need to look for 3rd party accessories. In this pack you have a range of WWII based weapons and accessories, including a motorcycle and side car and mounted machine gun. Some of the accessories are mounted on sprues and will need to be cut off, while others are bagged separately. The weapons are actually really detailed and recognisable. Despite this they are still scaled well for minifigs and don't look out of place. A great accessory set for anyone looking to create WWII MOC/build.
