Bohning Cauldron Fletching Jig - Helix,Black

Tried a million times but can’t get it to work well with my preferred 4 mm arrows no matter what I do. Seems to work better with 6 mm arrows.

Great idea, terrible execution. I thought I would try it for the time savings of being able to complete three vanes as quickly as one vane on a conventional jig. The problem is the arms have too much side to side movement and easily become asymmetrical as you fold them up and slide the clamp down. After multiple attempts and a dozens of vanes wasted, I was unable to get all three vanes to perfectly align. Most of the time 2 of the 3 vanes would come out perfectly however the third vane was always slightly askew.

Good fletching

When I ordered I assumed this fletching jig came with straight vane jigs as well as helixical, I was wrong. But was able to order the straight fletching jigs from Bohning directly.

Much easier to use than a bitzenberger on helical fletches

Gave an extra star for benefit of the doubt, but three of the four arrow "center posts" have defective threads. Unfortunately, one of those is the size I need for my arrows. I'd contact Bohning for parts, but the whole thing is toy quality plastic, so I'll waste no more time on it. Other reviews also state several other issues I tend to believe based on the poor quality of materials. Disappointed in Bohning. This is just too cheap to be excusable for $90. I'm now delayed at least 3-4 days of hunting, due to poor QC. Unacceptable for an old American company.

Plastic is too flexible to hold consistent pressure down the length of the vane. I'm having to go back and try to reapply pressure manually after taking it out of the jig. Save you money

I tried 6 different times. Still won’t fletch even. Returning. I will stay with my bitzenburger.
