Great rcd unit works great and reasonably priced better than some other's.

My old one was 10yrs old so my son insisted we get a new 1 and thank goodness we did as the cat had a chew on the extension cable and I didn't notice so as I was doing the grass I touched the split and got a quick jolt before it kicked in and closed off the electricity and stopped a surge as my son was WFH . Don't think I'd still be here if I'd have used the old 1 or not had 1 at all.

This is a pass-through RCD, so you plug it into the wall socket and then plug whatever you want to protect into the RCD. No wiring required. The nice thing, which I bought it for, is that a power interruption won't "trip" the device: power comes back then your fridge, etc. gets power back. (Technically this is a passive, or latching, RCD.) It will trip and cut power only if there's a fault causing a current where there shouldn't be, which is exactly what you want, usually. Lovely light, well made device.

This item came with a scrunched up small piece of paper with the instructions written thereon in tiny print. The wording is written in the Chinese idea of the English language and it is hard to get to grips with it. With regard to the actual device, it is hard to see if the red light is off or on - miniscule and not all that bright. Also had some trouble getting the lawn mower plug inserted into the adaptor.

Does exactly what we wanted it for. So far it's working perfectly.

Nicely built and hopefully will withstand being used repeatedly. It became clear that I needed some care using electric tools, shredders and a water pump. Electricity is dodgy stuff if it goes wrong, so now, at least, it switches off if it does. I feel safer now!

A tad plasticky but yer pays yer money, yer takes yer choice; can't fault the value for money. This review thing suggests I should put what I used it for. It's a UK socket RCD. What do you think I used it for?
