The Total Fishing Manual really covers a great area of knowledge! The layout is great for a visual learner like me, very efficient and really helps you get it right the first time. There a plenty of diagrams and illustrations which break down otherwise quite complicated knots etc. The explanations of fundamentals such as lures also makes this a good guide for beginners, whilst more advanced tips make it a good companion for the seasoned fisherman. I feel that Field and Stream are a reliable source of information, which is why I bought this book in the first place, and I don't regret my decision. A wonderfully illustrated guide for any level of fishing enthusiast!

Brought this for my friends son who is 12 and has just got into fishing. He was very pleased with it. Lots of good tips and clear illustrations. A great book for any angler

Good all around book, but lacks something in comparison with The Complete Fishing Manual by Henry Gilbey. It lacks insight into the prey and their environment.

Disappointing. Not a manual, maybe just a collection of spare articles on various topics. I didn't like the typographical choices, with plenty of pictures and diagrams which distract more than inform. And the quality of articles, which resemble one minute reading "pills". It is not a sistemati treatment of fishing for beginners, beware. And it is not an encyclopedia of fishing, as the title seems to suggest. I am trying to find a purpose for this book but I am getting convinced that it is not a good product and I do not recommend it. Sorry.
