Did you notice any issue with placing the PC on the top shelf instead of the low one?

I have only placed it on the bottom shelf. By placing it on the top shelf it would make the center of gravity too high and I would think it would be prone to topple over. We use the top for a mixing desk for which it is great for.

What is the widest PC that it will accomodate, mine is 281mm?

Width wise you are fine. Depends on length too. The bottom shelf is about 610 mm length by 340 mm wide clear of the metal end supports and uprights. If you are very long you could have 640 mm overhanging onto the metal end support but only 300 mm wide due to the uprights.
