Like my headline says read the directions! We did not so sadly this product did not work for us.

I purchased this product a couple of months ago. I used it to build a flu for my wood fired kiln. I wasn't expecting much from this product. But I was surprised after my first firing. I heated my kiln up to 1,600 degrees F. The refractory looked the same as it did before the firing. The price is too high but it's doing the job.

Update, the company selling the good reached out to me. Wanted to make things right for me and has done well to make sure that’s happened.Not only would I say this is a quality product but a great company behind it.This is a great product and quite easy to work with, but I was not happy with what was received in my original order. This refactory cement is quite wonderful and can take a lot of heat easily. I found it easy to work with. It did have some smaller stones but for my application of it, that didn’t hinder my process at all.Original review: The bag I received for this order was patch worked together. I’m not sure if it was broken or what and they just kept adding tape to it to get it to 20lbs. The first bag I received was the complete item. This one was cut in half or taped together wrapped in multiple bags. “High-Quality Refractory Cement: Concrete mix GIRtech FIRECAST (20 LB) is a multifunctional refractory product” would lend you to believe that this is 20lbs of refactory product. When after measuring the bags and tape, it was .43lbs of bag / tape and I only go19.57lbs of refractory product.

This isn’t good for gas forges, it doesn’t adhere well to the kaowool, doesn’t mix properly to apply a thin enough coat.I’m sure it works well for casting custom pieces.

The only thing I disliked was the fact I didn’t buy a bigger package
