Let me preface this by saying I bought this as a travel steak knife...I got so much more. This is an excellent knife for this price. Especially, considering it's D2 steel. What they saved on packaging was spent on a decent mechanism and great blade. Out of the box, the knife flips open quickly and smoothly with a slight spring assist from the ambidextrous blade lock...and locks in place well at that. The G10 grip is etched with tiny grooves, which is effective at keeping it in your hand. The belt clip is not reversible and sticks out just enough to make it annoying...I'll probably remove it and keep the knife in my pocket, since it's under 4". Also the butt of the knife is heavy enough to affect balance...due to the lanyard hook. Might come in handy if I need to break a window. ***Update 07/30/2025 Original purchase was 03/2024 and I loved that knife...but someone loved it more than me and didn't return it, claimed they lost it, so I borrowed $20 from them. I came to appreciate the belt clip design as I use it more to clip onto my jeans pocket. I would highly recommend a dry lube, like the kind used on motorcycle chains, for the locking mechanism. Blade is extremely durable and rarely needs sharpening.

This is my second one. I still have the first one and love it! The value is unbelievable. It is a sub $20 knife that goes toe to toe with knives 5x the cost and similar material. Smooth quick open with a press of a finger and just as smooth unlocking and retracting. Knife is shave ready sharp. Do not try this at home! The blade will easily shave hair on your arm. The D2 steel blade is solid. Just be sure to keep it dry. Clips and fits in any pocket. The right size that you will not notice it, and leaves room for other things like money and car keys. Blade is good for any tasks. You can cut open boxes, packages and garden bags to cutting steaks.

I found this knife while I was looking for a axis-lock or crossbar-lock knife. It says it not that on the box, but it didn't say on the product page. It has good lockup and is comfortable to hold, it's a problem that it looks like something it's not when it comes to the locking mechanism.
