I've been wanting to get away from using plastic in the microwave, and this glass splatter cover is the perfect solution. It works exactly as described, keeping my microwave completely clean while heating food evenly thanks to the smart vent design. I love that I don't have to worry about chemicals leaching into our food. It's sturdy, easy to see through, and cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher. As others might mention, it does have some weight to it, but that's expected for a quality piece of glass. For me, the heft is a sign of durability and it's a very small trade-off for the peace of mind of not using plastic. The handle is sturdy and makes it easy to lift. Highly recommended!

We wanted to get rid of our “plastic”microwave cover and are happy with this nice glass one. It is definitely heavier but we feel it is best to use glass. Large enough to cover most of our food. Easy to clean

Things I like: good quality and sturdy; easy to grip; the height covers the plate nicely and does not touch the food; you can see your food while it heats; it does not stain like the plastic covers and is easy to clean. If there is a negative it is that the cover is heavier than I expected which makes me anxious that someone will drop and break it and/or hurt themselves.

We love it! Yes, it is heavy. Yes, I worry that the plastic handle piece will break one day and it’ll come shattering down on my foot. However, the pros outweigh the cons for now: anything to not have forever chemicals and BPA in our microwaved, warmed up food. Win! High quality glass, will last and last - as long as the little plastic handle lasts, we’re good. It’s doing great many months in & we dishwasher it every week.

So, after reading about plastic micro particles shedding in the microwave after being heated... I decided it was time to get rid of my plastic spatter cover. I have to ask why you can't find a Made in USA version of these rather expensive glass spatter covers (Anchor Hocking, are you listening?) -- we're all left to purchase what's available on the market at this point in time. That brings me to this glass microwave spatter cover. Be aware that it's all glass -- thick enough not to easily break, and it's not light. There are nice little touches such as small ventilation holes to allow steam to escape, and a silicone handle that stays cool when the cover heats up from whatever it's covering. Also, there is even the thoughtful use of a ceramic washer/screw that connects into the top silicone handle. If they used plastic, then obviously you'd have heated up plastic over your food... which is what you were likely trying to avoid in the first place. So, they use ceramic here.

It is not that tall. I will still keep it though.

It works great! I noticed that, compared to prior reviews, the manufacturer ended changing the attachment inside to a silicone/rubber piece. Ours is working GREAT. It's a little hefty, but as is to be expected with a large glass cover. It's much easier to clean than our old plastic one and also much less toxic. It fits all around or just on top of all our food dishes/plates, and we use it daily.
