They are sharp and cut through clay easily. The loss of a start is because the delivery was rough. They were packaged in clear crunchy plastic and they had all spilled out. One fell apart. I used E6000 to glue it back together.

The largest is about an inch diameter. Has worked well for me with clay work. Can do lots of cool things with the tools. Great quality for the price.

I love these for my pottery making. Easy to use and so far easy to clean up as well. The variety of sizes is just right for making holes for berry bowls or the opening of a ceramic birdhouse. Very sharp and durable.

Versatile.Useful.Well Made Great set of tools for my Beginner/ Intermediate level ceramics class! They are easy to clean, easy to use, and a good price for the amount of tools. Love how I have different sizes to make openings and holes now. Having fun in class with them!

This is a decent set of low-cost pottery tools. They do NOT have a plunger or spring loaded center to push the clay you, so you will need to dig it out if you pack clay in the center; however the angle and sharpness of the tip is sufficient enough that you can cut a hole without packing clay into the tool. I ordered 2 sets, so a total of 8 tools. One of the large tools arrived with the metal part separated from the handle. It will be easy to glue back on with the proper adhesive. All in all, this is a good buy if you need to buy tools for a student, or when you are starting out and need to keep costs to a minimum.
