Not as sharp edges as others have climed
After reading all the reviews, I thought I would be getting a poorly formed object that would require me to wear heavy duty gloves to keep from cutting myself. And that it would be considerably undersized. Having done duct work all my life, I WAS prepared! BUT... What I received was a very wll designed and great looking air vent. ALL the exposed edges that one would encounter when installing were properly rolled and NOT the least bit sharp or dangerous. However, the INSIDE edges, which one should never have a need to touch, were just as they came out of the machine that made it...quite sharp. But I can see no reason for ever having to stick my hand or finger inside the unit. As I said, ALL the outside edges that will be handled are rolled, not the least able to cut anything and safe. As far as being undersized, the size you are buying is NOT the size of the unit, but the suize of the duct it is to fit in. I replaced a plastic vent in my 4" duct, and this nw vent fit perfectly. It requiired me to press it fairly tightly into the duct, and the little tabs grabbed the side of the duct just as they should. A duct's stated size is the outside diameter...4 inches in this case. And for something to fit inside that duct, the thickness of the material has to be considered. The end of a 4" duct that fits inside another duct is about 1/8 of an inch narrower than the end it is going into. That is why this vent is smaller than 4 inches...so that it can fit Inside the 4 inch duct...which it does perfectly. All in all, a very nice looking, easy to install and safe vent. Me and my furnace are very happy.

Great product and even better customer service!
8/24/25 UPDATE: The seller responded to this review by sending me a free replacement even though Amazon had already issued a refund. The replacement works perfectly! I couldn't be happier with either the product or the seller's fast response to the issue. Kudos to them! The flap is stuck open. It's like the stamping process wasn't complete and the flap is still attached to the frame so it can't close and leaves opening for small animals. Very disappointed! Extremely poor manufacturing.

These are OK, I like them.
These things are OK. I bought one and liked it enough for my application that I bought two more. I'm using them for engine exhaust outlets on electric generator enclosures. They keep the weather and bugs out while not restricting exhaust flow. When the gasoline engine exhaust has to push on a flap or damper to open it to let the exhaust flow out, that causes back pressure and encourages carbon monoxide build-up in the generator enclosure. That's not a problem with these because they do not restrict the exhaust flow at all. A four inch flexible pipe and this work great to channel engine exhaust out and away from the generator shelter. I use three "L' brackets with niobium magnets fastened to the semi-flexible aluminum pipe to secure the exhaust line to the muffler on the generator. This allows easy detachment to remove the generator from the enclosure for servicing. A line of Loctite red RTV high temperature adhesive sealant around the opening of the pipe that rests on the muffler makes a decent gasket/seal. All this works quite well as long as there's no restriction causing back pressure to force exhaust gasses out of the pipe where it joins the muffler. So these are a really good solution for that application. They're also competitively priced compared to metal dryer vents. Another plus is that they don't have the protruding ducting tube that dryer vents do, which makes for an easier, more compact installation in these generator enclosures. Simply insert the semi-flexible pipe into this fitting and seal it with aluminum foil ducting tape. Don't use regular duct tape, use aluminum foil tape. I think they look great. They look more professional for this kind of thing than a metal dryer vent. I mount them so that they're directed down and at a 45 degree angle away from the building the shelter sits near. That keeps the weather out and directs exhaust and noise down and away from the building. Paper wasps will nest inside this, they can't get past the screen so they build on the outside of the louvers and screen because it is a compact, sheltered area -- Exactly the kind of thing they like. What they don't like is getting gassed and cooked when the generator starts ... These things are stamped and formed metal. Like ALL such things they have very sharp edges from the manufacturing process. That's not a manufacturing defect or a quality control issue. If you cut yourself on this that's YOUR FAULT for not handling them properly. I haven't gotten so much as a nick from these, or any other stamped, formed or cut sheet metal, for a very long time. Show some good sense and you'll be fine. If you cannot handle an object like this or any other sharp object without seriously injuring yourself then DIY and handyman projects are not for you. If that's the case go hire someone who won't lose a finger on a simple piece of hardware.

This item is horrible!!!! The worst!!!! DO NOT BUY
This item is horrible!!!! (Updated based on Seller’s intervention) My initial experience is noted below. Since this post the seller has contacted me in an effort to remedy the situation and offer a commitment to utilize the information I provided for quality improvement. I received a full refund and as such I applaud their service recovery efforts. For that I will increase my star rating. The flop came stuck and when I finally got it lose there is a hole big enough for an elephant to pass through. I am scared to even install because I’m afraid of lizards and basically every non human thing. Listen, I want my money back!!! It’s far from the Stanley of dryer vent as one viewer said. And yes it is very sharp. #pissed

Easy and fits properly.
Easy to install. Bought two others that I had to return. One, the flap would not close the other didn’t fit right at all. This was the ticket.

I used these to replace traditional hot air registers ( 3 x 11 ) on my basement ceiling. The round diffusers are much like you would find in commercial or office ceilings. much more pleasing to look at. Easy to install, although I had to buy expandandle, flexible aluminum conduit for the connection.

The description of the product is misleading...it states on Amazon, "you can press panel to adjust the air volume". This is not actually true, you need to spin the centre section of the vent to open and close and if you want to maintain a position you need to go on the other side of the vent an tighten a nut other wise the centre section flops around. It might not be such a big deal if you have access to the back of the vent, however in my case we are using it outside in a small shed and I can't image how easy the centre section will be to move once we get snow and ice on it. You might want to mention its for internal use only, and change the operating statement. For me this will was a bad purchase heading to the garbage.
