Handy remote for ceiling mounted camera
I record videos for YouTube and livestream occassionally. I have a ceiling mounted Sony a6000 that I use for my top-down shots. Whenever I am getting ready to record something on my desk, I would have to drag a step ladder out to turn on/adjust the camera. Thankfully, I discovered this remote. I put a battery in and it immediately worked with my Sony a6000 camera (just make sure the "Remote Ctrl" option is turned on in your camera's menu settings). I was able to start and stop recording, play back recordings, navigate the menus and delete footage that I didn't want to keep. Unfortunately, I don't know if the zoom feature works or not. I have a manual lens on the camera body so this was a feature I could not test. Before you order, make sure that you have a Sony camera with an IR sensor (you can can see a little IR "eye" on the front of your camera or Google your camera model specs). I purchased two thinking I could use the second with my Sony ZV-E10, but I can not. The ZV-E10 does not have an IR sensor...instead, I needed a bluetooth remote for that one. Also, I was thinking that the red button on the remote would turn the camera on and off. It does not. That is only for stopping and starting recordings. I will have to invest in a smart wall plug to turn my camera on and off. Once I have that, I will never need to pull my step ladder out again. This is well worth the few dollars I paid for it. I would recommend it to anyone that has a Sony camera with an IR sensor.

Great purchase for the money and works as intended.
I just wanted something simple and cheap to trigger the camera from a distance without cables. The OEM Brand is about 3-4x the price of this. This remote works just fine. It's easy to use, good range and dirt cheap. I would recommend it for those who just need a simple remote trigger for selfies, family or pet portraits. But it also has other uses and buttons that help you change or control your camera settings, preview, delete or zoom into pictures or use a power zoom lens. (some buttons may not work depending on your camera model).NOTE: If you're looking for a remote for shooting time lapses , this it not for that. Also, it says it needs a 2025 battery, but you can gently squeeze in a 2032 and it will fit and work just fine. It Cames With NO Battery! - Nor can I find ANY information on the battery number or voltage!
It did not come with a battery, which is something I did not see any warning about in the product description area. And to add insult to injury, all it says that can find under "Battery Type", is "Alkaline", which essentially tells me nothing. So, what kind of complete lack of an asinine way of doing business is that?

Great remote
Love this. Have other remotes that dont work as well. This is still iffy and it doesnt always work but it works way better and way farther then anything else ive used.

Works great for my new camera.
This remote works great for my Sony a6400. Perfect for tripod users who don't want to touch the camera. Even better that you can review the photos with the remote. You can control the zoom lens as well. The remote did not come with a battery, but I already had some. Bouth a 10 pack from Amazon for much cheaper than they sell in store locally.

A good unit with good value for the reasonable price
Came the next day. No instructions, but I found them on line. Followed how to tell thecamera to work with this device and it did. Worked well. Had to supply my ownbattery, but that was good too, since I use well made batteries. If you need aremote for shutter and video activation this is a good value unit.
