worth every penny, imo
I've used these for years. I had a spare shaft. I put it on and it worked perfectly when I tested it. NOT too hot a zap- Not too cold....just right like it should be. Goldilocks would've liked it. My old ones are 14 years old and don't work perfectly such as push the button and it has a charge at the ready- they don't anymore....but they zap when you push the button still. I like having one at the ready when working cows because you don't have to think about pushing the button. You DO have to remember to ground it if you have set a charge at the ready when you're done. Just touch it to a trailer or stock panel and it's 100% safe and ready to put away. It was nice it came with a set of batteries. The shafts can get destroyed and snap even though they're pretty tough. I've broken a couple and keep a couple spares handy since I'm so far from a store to replace them. I've had cows knock these out of my hand and into sloppy pooh and they still work. The weight is just fine and helps keep them balanced in my hand. The power being not too hot or too weak is important and doesn't make you afraid to pop 'em again if needed. They're still less expensive than a Hotshot and a better deal. Batteries have never been an issue because they last a long time which means I always test one before it's going to be used so I know it's working good and I'm ready to work.

advertised as shipping with "new"batteries
product seemed fine and was packed well, as advertised shipping with "new batteries" I was dissapointed that the batteries were completely dead upon arrival. Checked them with a volt meter and they read 1.0 volts instead of 1.5v each. Had to take the batteries out and go to store to buy new ones to fix the problem. I didn't expect having to pay an extra $7.00 on a $47.00 product to make it work. Vendor should test units before shipping
