This egg cracker works. I tried several others ... all were duds. I found it works best if the egg is sitting in something ... I used an empty egg carton for best result. When I held the egg in my hand it took more hits before the egg cracked, probably due to my hand acting as a damper for the vibrations or because it was awkward to lift the weight.

Works pretty good but you gotta be careful small pieces of egg shell get into the egg

utterly useless for my purpose. photos misleading no clear instructions. last time I tried cracking a raw egg was over 25 years ago, tap on edge of bowl and split as usual, my tremor imploded it to scrambled egg w/ crunchy shell bits mixed in. this will just do the same. when hammer hits egg the egg will implode, just like 25 years ago.

It’s possible under different conditions that it may work better, but I keep my eggs in the refrigerator and therefore they are cold. The break is a little ragged not nearly as clean cut as the picture shows. Still, some small slippers of Shell fall into pan or bowl and still need to be fished out, at least when the eggs are cold.

Easy to use, eliminates messy eggshells and keeps the yolks intact, great for baking.
