powerful, compact as immersion blender and a mini food processor
I finally get to use this Phillips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender and I am quite impressed. I used the immersion blender to make cream of broccoli soup and it did a great job with plenty of power. The additional cutting discs turn it into a nice mini food processor with plenty of cutting power. The whole unit is easy to take apart to clean, since many of the pieces are dish washer safe. I am quite impressed with this Phillips ProMix Handblender overall.

Overkill For A Spiralizer
When you own an RV, you’re always on the lookout for space saving kitchen appliances. So when my wife asked me to look for a compact blender for her, I got to work and came across this ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’. It looked it would serve the purpose, so I ordered it. This ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’ is definitely a quality appliance. You can feel that even just holding it. It’s solid and well balanced. You don’t find that in the cheap imports. This appliance has great power. I like the fact you can adjust the blending/chopping speed by how hard you press on the trigger. It takes some getting used to, but one you get the hang of it it works great. I like the fact Philips includes shredding and slicing blades with this ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’. It makes it into a sort of mini food processor. And the appliance does the job very well. It chopped a whole onion in about 20 seconds. My wife also used it to blend some of her garlic sauce. It worked ok for that. The only problem was having to remove the blender from the bowl to add mor oil. You just can’t add it while it’s running. The ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’ and it’s included accessories seem to be of decent quality. The bowl and mixing cup are a nice grade of plastic. The top of the cup fits securely. It’s weird, though, that to tighten it you need to turn it the opposite way of what you’re used to. It must be a European design. The only thing I don’t like about this ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’ is the heavy emphasis Philips put on it being a spiralizer. I know spiral cutting veggies is big right now, but the appliance does so much more than to be branded a spiralizer. That’s just my opinion. All in all, this ‘Philips ProMix Viva Collection Handblender’ is great compact hand blender and food processor. It has power…is easy to use…does lots of things…and is well made. And, yes, it spiralizes. I can recommend it.

Broke down six months later
After six months, it broke down. After 3 minutes of chopping soaked lentils in the blender, smoke and a burning plastic smell came out. It still turns on, but it makes a loud squeaking sound and has a burning smell. P.S. I took it apart and the problem was that the engine shaft stopped rotating freely after half a turn, causing friction and a burning smell. This was a 100% factory defect. Thank you, Philips, for the poor quality!

Well built, excellent results, dishwasher safe! 5☆☆☆☆☆
This came in professional packaging and was very well protected inside to ensure a safe delivery. I do understand the price is relatively higher than many other brands or manufacturers that a similar appliance. That being said what it does it does really well and the build quality of each piece is fantastic. The hand blender comes with attachments that include a whisk, a chopping blade and an emulsion tool that I haven't used. This appliance makes a variety of dishes from soups to even some yummy omelets. This appliance blends and mixes really well and the chopping function has surprisingly been a big hit. Everything is dishwasher safe and comes out super clean from my dishwasher. This appliance has a very compact design which makes it very easy to store or leave on the counter if you choose. I also like that they include a tumbler to take with you for when you leave the house. Would purchase again!

Not as expexted
I wanted to love this as I love all European appliences, but the the attachment for julienned veggies just doesn't work.

It works, but won't replace a full on blender
I got this since I didn't have a blender when I moved into my own place. It works, it's got a good amount of power and a LOT of accessories for slicing.. The "hand mixer" blade works, but I would recommend a metal cup as it will scrape up the sides of the plastic. I've been making smoothies with it, just a little milk, some yogurt and frozen fruit. It works, but it takes a while as the blades are a little small so it has trouble chopping up larger stuff. All in all, it's great for it's intended purpose. Just know when you buy it that this won't replace a full on blender.
