In the past I've used a thumb tack, which didn’t always go so good. A dozen eggs in and not a single problem. I love it! Easy yo use. And it’s true, the peels practically slide right off. Light weight, small but mighty little gadget! Worth its weight in gold lol.

Well made, attractive. Not sure I shouldn’t just be using a hammer and small nail to pierce the egg end. I destroyed about 4 eggs when piercing a dozen for hard boiling. But using this made it easier to remove the shell after cooking and there was no darkness from sulfur even though I used, against advice, new eggs.

I lost the pick for my electric egg cooker. I tried various pins to puncture the eggs before cooking. Nothing worked well. This item is easy to use and sturdy. Also, easy to find in a cluttered cabinet.

This device actually works. When the egg is gently pressed down the needle will poke a hole into the shell and then when it is submerged in the boiling water you can see the tiny bubbles. The shell does come off more easily when you peel the egg.

Wouldn't hard boil eggs ever again without one of these! My sister showed it to me and have loved it ever since.

Heavy duty is not a good description for this thing. The spring gave out after the second use. Just glue a thumbtack to a bottle cap and you will get the same result. I do not recommend.
