![InFinite [2LP+DVD] [VINYL] 45RPM LP](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71d4NBCvW9L.jpg)

This is the vinyl format of the Deep Purple “InFinite” album. It is a 2LP set with additional DVD included. Deep Purple are one of the most influential British rock bands of all time. With 120 million albums sold worldwide, they are one of the most loved British bands of all time. Recently inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, they have inspired and shaped the taste of generations of hard rock musicians and fans with milestone albums like "In Rock" or "Machine Head" which are essential chapters in rock music history. Their live album "Made in Japan" is often referred as one of the best (if not "the best" live album of all times). "NOW What?!", released in 2013, brought Deep Purple back to the top of the charts worldwide. The tour that followed sold over a million tickets worldwide. Ian Gillan, Roger Glover and Ian Paice are the three members from the current line-up who have been part of the band since it's "Mark II" version, the one that is considered the "absolute classic". The current line-up of the band is completed by Don Airey (about to release his 4th album with the band) and Steve Morse (who has been in the band for over 20 years, about to release his 6th studio albums with Deep Purple). With "inFinite" and the associated "The Long Goodbye" tour, Deep Purple are approaching a turning point. Is the band about to write the final chapter of its career? As a natural follow up to the worldwide success of "NOW What?!", "inFinite" has once again been produced by Bob Ezrin who has formed with the five members of Deep Purple, an explosive songwriting team. "InFinite" is possibly the most "seventies" of all Deep Purple albums released since the 1984 reunion with "Perfect Strangers". Ezrin and Deep Purple have managed to capture the purest Purple classic sound while staying well away from the temptation to be nostalgic or to "play themselves". On the contrary the band shows the tranquillity to not care about delivering short songs or to limit the long solos and the moments of improvisation. Just as when the story started, in an ideal cycle that comes to completion. From "in Rock" to "in-finite". Possibly destined to end, but still terribly good. The end, the allusion of the band's forthcoming tour name, a theme recurring in the songs and surely something that the band will be asked about. If this is really the farewell album by Deep Purple, there could not be a better one, or are they once again making fun of everybody? "Deep Purple's progressive album" - it's what a critic said after a recent private playback of the album. "We are an instrumental jazz band, with somebody occasionally singing on it," was Ian Gillan's reply. If this is the case, guitars haven't been harder for a jazz band, "inFinite" in fact shows also a side of Steve Morse that not everybody was expecting, melodic, raw, close to the roots of the blues rock. "InFinite" is heavy and delicate at the same time, with an inspired Ian Gillan who is totally free from the duty to sound as people expect, delivering a versatile and exciting vocal performance during the whole album. The production and song-writing process has been captured on film on the movie documentary "From Here to inFinite" which is available with a various number of versions of the album as a bonus DVD. It is a treat for all fans to be able to enter the recording studio and witness producer Bob Ezrin interacting with the various personalities and talents in the band. The DVD is a 90+ minute documentary movie called, “From Here To InFinite” Review: Superb - Deep Purple - like fine wine. Superb musicianship and great tunes. Review: Classic Deep Purple (with added live tracks) - Brilliant album. In my opinion this is Deep Purple album getting back to their best. The live bonus CD included in this edition is brilliant. A must have.

Enjoy - Don't Compare and.........................Play at 45 RPM !!!!
Infinite LP - Must be played at 45 RPM.....Not 33 RPM!! **************************************************************** Having advised of the little known fact that you have to play this LP at 45 RPM and NOT 33 RPM I'll proceed with my review, as follows:- To follow-up the album 'Now What'?! was always going to be tricky to put it mildly - that being my favourite Deep Purple album after rapture of the Deep (and, yes, I do have 'In Rock','Fireball', and 'Machine Head' in fact I have them all before you ask). To compare albums from the previous to the current or to those produced in years gone bye is a waste of time really as being the current album it needs to be appreciated as just that and all previous work by any band / artist is surely judged 'at the time' and on its own merits is it not? Therefore, InFinite, in my opinion deserves 4 stars (not 5) as the compositions are not all of the same high standard in their musicality - I overlook/ignore the cover version of 'Road House Blues' here as, to me, this track is irrelevant to the album and to me appears like a studio 'warm-up' track and not one worthy of appearing on an album unless it is (as they do now) a 'bonus track' - it's laughable really that we are expected to take this one seriously - you should have left well alone guys and allow the original to state its case (by The Doors of course). The rest of the album to me is just pure class and, having seen the documentary already on the SKY channel we also must pay respect and tribute to the production work of Mr Ezrin - surely a master in the studio? I love the guitar work of Steve Morse and, to me, Ian Gillan's voice is just as awesome as ever. As music lovers and fans of this fantastic band I believe we are truly fortunate to savour yet another new album from 'The Guys'. I just can't wait to see them 'live' this year and of course we all hope (like hell!!) that there is still more to come.............. Don't forget - play this LP at 45 RPM and...............ENJOY, don't compare!!! TTFN Mr ASH

Wonderful
Exceeded expectations. I really like the previous album and for some reason thought this would not reach the heights. The album is great fun, a wonderful sound and a such vibrancy throughout. I had heard a few tracks before release and wasn't particularly moved. It is such a difference sitting down and listening to this properly in full. So far away from the abandon/bananas albums as there is just much more life to it. People have panned the Roadhouse blues selection, but it puts a smile on your face, and at the end of the day, that's what it is mainly about. Great times ahead getting to know this record. Give me a pint of what Gillan is drinking.

Not quite as good as the last
Thist latest album from Deep Purple comes about 4 years after the release of their previous album Now What. That album was absolutely fantastic and arguably the best Deep Purple album since their 1980's reunion. This one is not quite as good however and for me there are only three very strong tracks such as Time For Bedlam, All I Got Is You and Birds Of Prey and some pretty good tracks in Johnny's Band , The Surprising and One Night In Vegas. Overall I feel that this album is slightly a step back from the excellence of its predecessor but nevertheless it's always a pleasure to hear these fantastic musicians playing together and whilst some of Mr Gillan's lyrics are not necessarily to my taste some of them equally make me laugh and I can imagine him singing them with his tongue firmly in his cheek. All in all I did enjoy the album and hopefully it will not be their last.

Ciao.
