Silvertip Badger Hair Shaving Brush Knot (20mm x 63mm)

This turned out to be a good good purchase. I bought a shave brush drip stand and it came with a pretty terrible synthetic shave brush. I was between projects so I decided to see if I could reknot the brush with a silvertip badger knot. After consulting YouTube,(the source of all practical knowledge), it turned out I had almost all the tools I needed. I did have to get some new dust masks and maritime epoxy. The project was a complete success. I do have to mention that this knot upon arrival was very....musky I guess is the way to describe it. Another way to put it is it smelled awful. This is expected of course. When you first start using this knot in whatever handle you mount it don't have very high expectations. It takes a bit over a week before you will begin to get the excellent results this brush is capable of. It was a good project with very satisfying results and a new skill set.

I've ordered two of these. The first one I got was a natural badger knot and it was great. Then I reordered another one to use in a different shave brush and I got a synthetic knot that is nowhere near in comparison to the first one I got. Very disappointed. I guess it's a gamble on what you're actually going to get. Both of these knots in the picture are supposed to be exactly the same. Left one is natural, right one is synthetic.

These are excellent quality knots. Just the right amount of body. Not "mushy" like some cheaper knots.

It is worth the cheap price and if you are only looking for a little softer than a boar bristle brush, this might be a good choice. As it is not silver tip as represented, seems stiffer than pure badges I have had, I question what it is possibly some boar, horse or something else mixed in.

OK for the money, but does not compare to the other brushes / knots that I use.

Does not look anything like the picture very small will not purchase ever again

The best badger bristles I have used, soft and luxurious, they made a beautiful shaving brush.
