SIP4" x 8" Belt Disc Sander 500W Sanding Machine for Wood 2850RPM Belt Sander

I have received the said product, it was larger than expected but it was sturdy made and well set. It was easy to attach its attachments and to have running. The belt sander adjustment and directions were easy to align the belt and it was tested on small items and it works like a charm. I highly recommend this product for who is interested in having a reasonably sturdy built and powerful sander at a reasonable price. Well done SIP.

So far the sander is working well and getting regular use in a community workshop. It is sturdy and seems quite accurate in use and does a good job. Excellent for end grain sanding and squaring up cuts, or angle cuts when the platforms are set up accordingly. The negatives are that the dust extraction is not efficient when using the disk - better with the belt. More dust enters the workshop than the extractor. Also, the dust extractor port is a little flimsy. It cracked on one of the first uses. It also points in one direction only - which was a pain because we wanted to connect it to the dust extractor pipe which comes from the other direction! It would be good if it was reversible. However, one of our innovative types constructed a clever work around. Apart from the dust extraction it's a fairly rugged and useful piece of kit.

I had to return this as the disc was running out so badly it could not be used, I nice design though and if the final inspection had been more carefully carried out ans the unit supplied in good order then this would have been a great machine.
