VASAGLE Lift-Top Coffee Table with Open and Hidden Storage, X-Shaped Bars, 60 x 100 x (48-62) cm, Rustic Brown and Black

This is the third item I now own from the VASAGLE range by Songmics (floating corner shelf & bookshelf pictured with table above) and I am once again really impressed. I had my eye on a lift up table from another brand, but it was not as striking as this being just black, and it had very plain legs. When I found this, it was on offer so I found the price very reasonable. Assembly was easy as anything, I did take my time with it as I wanted to ensure I didn't ruin the whole thing or rush anything. It says you can use a drill, but I would deem this overkill and a bit clunkier than needed for the job, especially when attaching the lift away arms. It comes with a double-ended (+ & -), magnetic screwdriver which I found really cool and it's got a good quality grip on it too (yay free tool!). The parts of the table itself are labelled with stickers to say which is which, and there was one unlabelled bag of hardware, however it was easy to work out which it was as all others were labelled. There is a generous bag of spare hardware parts, too - which is really handy for construction and future dismantling / repairs. As for the table itself, when lifted out it is stable and strong (enough to bang your knee and it doesn't even wobble, whoops) and when it's folded down, it hides all the lovely storage space underneath it neatly. The cavity underneath the table is spacious enough to store a good amount of homely items (books, tablets, i.e). My next plan is to get some nice storage baskets to sit inside the table; just to offer a touch more organisational bliss. Bare in mind: if you are a bit accident prone / have pets or children, you might want to avoid storing anything that can get damaged by any spills inside the table itself, without a protective case. You don't want to accidentally kick your cup of tea onto your laptop / partner's switch console and start domestic mayhem D: The X-shaped bars really add stability, which is much needed in a coffee table in a living area; my previous one was flimsier than tissue paper in a rainstorm. The bars, paired with the nice toasted walnut finish really add character to the room, and it has made the entire living space look comfier and more welcoming than it was before. Oh, one final note on the delivery; it arrived three days ago and has been built and used since then happily. It says it is due today - so they deliver efficiently, better than their own expectations! The courier was also lovely and placed it inside my hallway to save me hoofin' it over the two steps.

Great fine, look's fab very pleased with it. Hard to follow instructions

I chose this product, because a reviewer had stated how good the delivery experience was. Mine is very different: a ring at the door and no one was there, but the parcel was left in a deep puddle, whilst it was still heavily raining. Plus my new and expensive herbs had been knocked over and on top of some bedding plants. It took several hours for a dehumidifier to dry out the box, in order to prevent it collapsing in my arms. So yes the instructions are okay, I suggest reading a little ahead, so as to visualise what you are constructing up to. Also to bolt/screw diagonally, when possible, this makes for a better and easier fit. Fortunately I have a ratchet screwdriver which can also deal with Allen key screws and this saved a fair bit of elbow-grease. Nearly 4 hours, that is including putting my pots back and salvaging battered plants and coping with some damp parts, within the box, which was all very unnecessary. The previously stated reviewer reckoned on 3 hours and, even with help I do not think you can best that, with ease. Conclusion is well made, for the money and thought out, so that a feeling of 'rush' is avoided. I recommend this table, but, if you know when your delivery is, which I did not, then stay by your door, in the hope that you may receive assistance with getting the box indoors.

This was the best organised and easiest to understand flat-pack we've ever assembled. The instructions were super clear and all the components were individually bagged and numbered. It even came with a proper screwdriver. Delivery was about 4 days earlier than expected as well. We absolutely love our new coffee table, it has plenty of storage for all our puzzles and games and it looks a lot more expensive than what it was. The grain looks real even though it's laminate/chipboard. It feels very sturdy. My advice is just make sure any items you put in there are clear of the springs so it closes properly. I definitely recommend this table and would buy this brand again.

I’m quite disappointed with the lift top that doesn’t seem really strong

Po regale na książki, wieszaku, szafce RTV i okrągłych stolikach to mój kolejny mebel z kolekcji Vasagle, w końcu stanał na środku salonu przed sofą, a w razie potrzeby podnosi się część blatu i można w wygodnie pracować na laptopie. Całkiem fajnie prezentuje sie w salonie. Złożenie go zajmuje sporo czasu - przydałby sie jeden lub dwa dodatkowe rysunki w instrukcji i oznaczenia, która część którą stroną na etapie składania blatu. No ale na koniec efekt jest taki jak żona oczekiwała. Na minus dwie małe rzeczy - 1.musiałem pominąć naklejanie okrągłych podkładek gdyż dwie części blatu byłby nierówne, 2.mechanizm składania mógłby faktycznie być bardziej przemyślany, np. oparty na siłowniczkach gazowych a nie sprężynach.
