Wagan 3716 500W Slim Line AC to DC Inverter 500W TrueRated 1000W Surge Power Inverter

I have an RV with a 7.3 cubic feet Danby refrigerator-freezer, that runs on 120 volts AC. Occasionally, we like to dry camp, so electric hookups are not available. I used the Danby as a replacement for an old propane+12v/120v RV fridge. I have a large coach battery for my rig, about the size of 3 regular car batteries put together. As a trial, I hooked the Slim Line 800 Inverter using the provided cables to my RV battery as a test, and ran a short extension cord to my Danby fridge. The fridge powered-up no problem, and ran it for 4 hours until the fridge was down to the proper temps. The needle on my coach battery gauge didn't even move. I will need to run heavy battery cable from my battery compartment to my refrigerator compartment, where the Slim Line 800 Inverter will be permanently installed. So far so good. The fridge was about $350, this Inverter was about $90, plus the battery cables is a very cheap and practical solution to an expensive 2- or 3-way dedicated RV fridge replacement which can cost well over $1500. Update: After mounting the inverter in the refrigerator compartment and running thick battery cables about 20 feet to the coach battery compartment with a 100 amp circuit breaker, I tested the inverter with a fully charged battery. The refrigerator ran from start-up for 48 hours. The battery indicator was just below 12 volts. The inverter probably could have run the refrigerator another 24 to 48 hours before reaching the 10 volt shut off threshold. Very impressed with this inverter.

This is a small charger with a good kick. It's about a quarter of the size of my first charger but it has 600 more amps and can charge a V8 with juice left over. It comes with all of the accessories too.

Incredible Runs my whole house connected to chevy car battery. It runs 1450 watt microwave It runs shop vac It WILL NOT RUN Big saw or grinder .....and infont blame it. Its made in 🇹🇼 Taiwan Super high quality and built like a lexus car.

UPDATE 11/20/2022: Not adding a star but giving kudos. Due to my error, the inverter overloaded and no longer powered on. The design includes internal fuses that are user swappable. Quick fuse replacement fixed the unit. Would have been nicer if fuses were external, but at least they were not fixed to the internal boards requiring benchwork soldering like cheap products. Highly recommend to have a blade fuse assortment kit handy. One was odd, 25er. Dinged a star for oscillating sound fan makes. Could be where I mounted it amplifies the fan noise but I can hear this thing go. It’s outside in a plastic box. I’m inside an Rv. The plastic box likely the culprit but the previous inverter made sound too. This makes wrrrr we wrrrr we wrrrr we wrrrr we. You know. Oscillating as opposed to white noise steady wrrrrrr

This inverter powers my whole little house and has been doing a remarkable job of it for three years. The loads include window A/C, Clothes washer, microwave, refrigerator, two chest freezers in addition to my shop loads including 3/4 HP bench grinder,large drill press, chop saws, air compressor etc. Only problem was the cooling fan which I replaced [for $12.00]. This despite BAD lightning storms on this hilltop that hit several times a year and burn out electronics. I have never before had an inverter last for over 9 months and am proud to recommend to you this Wagan EL3744 which will keep you on line for a trouble free power source!!
