Why did you choose this product over others?: Great product but badly packaged. 3 of the 6 jar lids were breached. Brown liquid leaked into and out of the Amazon box, smell was terrible. Likely the delivery driver had a bad experience along with other customers that would have received soggy smelly boxes yesterday. Sorry about that. I’ve bought this 6 pack 2 times prior with no issues, the issue was that this item was not individually boxed. I had bought 12 tins of soup and the weight of this item free to move in the box damaged the jar lids. So that’s an Amazon logistics issue not a reflection on the product. Add this seitan to your tinned organic Amazon soups, it’s great for flavour and texture. Great shelf life too. I’m not going to stop buying this Seitan from Amazon, but I’ll just get one 6 pack alone. Update: have bought again as a single item on one order, delivered intact. No issues. Tried another tinned brand in between, not as good. Love the Biona stuff, can’t put enough of it in one soup serving. Updated my rating to 5 star. Still buying… sticking with the strategy of one item orders. Price is good on Amazon, have since tried to find elsewhere and even direct from Biona.

Useful source of protein, but does taste oriental with ginger, great for asian dish but not suitable for mexican or English recipes.

Easy to cook, tastes good, enough protien but could be more. Worth it tho!

I have tried to make seitan and while it came out OK the gesture wasn’t quite right. This product is what I was hoping to be able to make myself and I and very pleased with it. Reasonable price too.

The Jars arrived but one had opened with the contents dripping down the jar, and one had mold around the lid, I think the jars are banging against each other in transit or the store ware house. I will just be buying from a shop in the future. I am giving a good rating for the flavour as i have bought before from this company,(Biona) Thanks EM.
