Why we need a soldering smoke absorber:1. A soldering flux is required when soldering and the main ingredient of soldering flux is rosin. Rosin mainly consists of abietic acid, which converts to neoabietic acid under high temperature. In this process, toxic components will be produced and volatilized into gas, which can cause headaches, dizziness, vomiting, eye disease etc.2.Helps prevent harmful fumes: When using equipment that creates harmful fumes for long periods of time you will always run the risk of causing problems to your respiratory system. A fume extractor greatly reduces the probability of developing health problems.3.Air Purification: In areas that do not have much space or windows, A fume extractor with a air filter system would be a great benefit for small works spaces.4. This HJ-1238 soldering smoke absorber has 3-stage filtration system, which absorbs and captures fumes from solder, flux, chemicals, gases and helps to reduce unwanted odors in your working spaces5.Removes harmful contagions in the air: The extractor not only removes harmful fumes in the air it also traps small particles in the air surrounding the workplace. This allows for a safer work environment since any particles that form during the work day are removed.Features:3 Stage Filtration:Includes a fabric pre-filter, an activated carbon filter and photocatalyst filter which is ideal for absorbing toxinsMade of high quality ABS materialLow noise and high- efficient fanEasy to replace filterHandy carryPackage contents:1 x Soldering smoke absorber1 x Activated Carbon filterYour lungs will thank you in advance and you will breathe easily and cleaner with the MUIN HJ-1238 bench top smoke absorber Review: works well Review: Firstly the unit came with a US plug instead of an AU plug. When I pulled the fan from the box it was rattling. When I took the filter off the front, I noticed the fan was broken of the motor and it was loose in the unit. Very disappointing quality from such an expensive fan.

Although I still would solder in a more open area, this really does help with removing all that bad fumes away from you. I usually do a bunch of replacements on chips and doing soldering so this works great for that. When I am heating a chip off, it keeps the flux odor from coming right at me while also allowing me to maintain visual of the area I am trying to work on. The filters are pretty nice and they are pretty effective. I can see the amount of build up on the filter after several uses. It comes with three filters so you can use that how you will. I am unsure if they are able to sell replacement or if you can just wash this and reuse them. I am not entirely sure how long you can use each filter for but use your best judgement when working with this. The device is not extremely heavy but can be a bit loud. You need to make sure it is not too far from where you are soldering (five inches is recommended). It can pull the fumes away pretty well. The fan really only has one setting so you are not able to increase the speed. I honestly would not want to. The fan does cause vibrations but it does not cause the device to fall over or anything. It stands up pretty well. It is light and small enough where you can easily move this around as needed. Replacing the filter is not too hard. You just remove the front panel and swap out the filter. Although this does filter out the harmful fumes, I would still recommend you solder in an open area. Overall the device works pretty well. It is well built but easy to disassemble so you can replace the filters as needed. The device stands well but the fan can be a tad bit loud. Because you are working closely to it you, it can be a bit annoying. The filters do the job in keeping the fumes to a minimum. Would I say it is perfect? No which is why I suggest you still use this as well as solder in a more open area just to be safe. The fan is solid. It also has plenty of grills to protect your hand so you do not get it caught in the blades. It eliminates a good amount of fumes so you can be a bit safer in your work space.

If you put filter in a wrong way, does not work, I made that mistake. When kept close enough, it works well, just so noisy, but if you are not sensitive to loud fans, that is not problem.
