Great system to store our Thule Cargo Box in the garage. Installation is complex, but not hard. This comes with good instructions and even a QR code for a video to visualize the goal. I installed solo and it took an hour or so. Pros: -Install is straightforward with detailed instructions -Parts are good quality -Rope is solid with no fear of fraying, damage, etc. Cons: -Rope is too long for our ceiling so a lot is left over. The rope could be cut and tied -Pulleys do mitigate some of the weight of the object, but not as much as I imagined. My wife cannot pull our cargo box up by herself.

Would buy again.

Nice quality, good instructions, great hardware. I was thinking this would be some cheap system, but it will help us store our roof box. My only regret is the pulley sled near the object could use a piece of foam. I will add a piece, the reason is once the item is lowered it can knock against your shiny roof box. Not a huge deal. I opted to use a bolt on the door track vs the rope clear. This worked out better in my situation due to my third car garage. I will be buying another storeyourboard tonight.

Just installed this today for my 63" long x 38" wide SportRack Vista XL cargo box. It mounted neatly on one 1/2 of the 16-ft wide garage on my 12-ft ceiling, in between the garage door opener and the left door rail above my Subaru Outback. It's smooth operation, seems solid and the weight of my cargo box is waaaaay under the max load of the pulley/rope system. It took me approx 2 hours by myself (12-ft ladder needed) and is slightly different than the ceiling mount bike rack that I installed a few years ago, but similar concept. Instructions were clear and I slowed down and studied the details along the way to ensure that I wouldn't have to go back and re-do anything once up. Patience is a virtue - Ha! Once installed with my cargo rack load, I then went back and forth a few times of pulling up/lowering down on my vehicle to get the strap adjustments just right, then trimmed all straps and rope for the final step. I'm quite happy with this and it solved several problems for me in my tightly packed garage. The garage is large and "finished" but there's a lot of necessary stuff in there, including 2 vehicles. Def recommend you buy this if you're looking for storage of your cargo top.

Excellent hoist and materials. If you’ve ever put up another similar hoist like a bike one this is slightly more complicated but nothing that won’t make sense. I found the instructions pretty clear with that knowledge. Took me about 30 min to put up. Again, I’ve installed 5 bike hoists twice and have a working knowledge of how they go up and how far apart to space them. It’s pretty cleverly designed. I used this on a Yakima Skybox 18 that’s nearly 96” long and it hoists it just fine. I don’t know that my wife could pull it up as it does require some muscle at that heft. I don’t need a 3 pulley hoist for this box since it’s not that heavy, just long. The two straps stay secure. I like the fact that the strap buckle is quality metal, the straps are made out of seat belt material (just thinner), and the buckles have a silicone sleeve so it won’t scratch whatever it’s holding and it has a holder for the excess strap. Great quality for the price. Would buy again.

This product worked great for hanging our roof box. One thing to note, which could be a benefit for some, is that the string is quite long—some people may choose to cut it to fit their needs. Mounting was easy; just follow the instructions and the helpful YouTube video. I particularly appreciated how it provided a convenient storage solution for our roof box. For those with a garage, storing it on the ceiling is the ideal option, as it keeps the box out of the way and makes use of space that would otherwise go unused. Definitely a 5-star product!

Update: The rope broke while hoisting my storage box. I ordered straps long enough to fit (see initial post below). While hoisting, the front to back was slightly out of balance. Per the instructions, I adjusted one side, but when you do this both sides unlock, so the box slipped more. This left an imbalance toward the back and the resultant failure. From this, I conclude that the system is not designed for a 150 lbs load, or even 50% of that. The company calls it "store your board". Looks like surfboards weight 15 lbs. I don't know why they would claim 10x that in the product description. If you have a storage box, look elsewhere. --- initial post I imagine it would be fine for a surf board or canoe, but the storage box shown in the product images has height and width, so they should include longer straps to go around that. The strap between the pulleys is quite long. I assume they expect you to hoist long narrow objects. It would be nice if the product description included maximum dimensions beyond weight.

Die Montage ging sehr leicht (vorausgesetzt man kann eine Bohrmaschine bedienen). Die Schwierigkeit ist vergleichbar mit der Montage einer Deckenlampe. Wenn man das kann, ist dieser Lift kein Problem. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde das Produkt sofort wieder kaufen!

I used this to hang my Thule carrier on the roof of my garage. The quality of the hardware is excellent and holds with no issues whatsoever. The instructions are really clear, and I didn’t have to make any adjustments after installing whatsoever. Takes about 20-30 minutes to install as long as you know where the trusses or strapping are on your roof. Would highly recommend.

Really good product. Bought to store a roof box in my garage. Straight forward to assemble using instructions and or the YouTube video. Cost effective. Would recommend.
