Lots of pounding for neighbors
I made 4/12 tusses and these did work. They are difficult to pound. The truss has to be on solid surface to minimize bounce. I used a 4 lb and 6 lb hammer. The 6 lb worked best but I needed 2 hands, the 4 lb has a smaller head and a shorter Handel so I could wield it with one hand. After I fully seated each plate, I I use a 16 ozhammer to pound any high spots reinforced the plates o. One side of the truss with nails to prevent loosening when pounding the plates on the other side. I would not try todo this for house size trusses. Best to have them made at a truss company as they seat the truss plates with a press. For a shed, or in my case, an outside pavilion, you can do it

Worked like name brand
Worked great for trussing. No difference between these and other name brands we used on the project

For the love of all things holy
Due to lack of construction industry experience, I had no idea these plates must be pressed into the wood. It took some convincing from a sledgehammer. This is proving to be great exercise. It’s amazing how plates on each side of the rafter transform two pieces of wood into the strength of a solid piece. They are the best way to join pieces of wood together, so I’m happy to have them. If they were plans to build more Afters, over the years, I would purchase a press create a jig. Since I am only doing two sheds, just normal plates, either nail and or screw in, would have been ideal for one project time constraints.

Can I get a Hoya?
Very cool. I hope you know what you’re doing when you’re thinking about buying these. Hint-drill some screws in the holes if you can’t get it to press in like it’s supposed to with a hammer

Nicely Made and Easy To Use
I got these for a project I'm going to working...a shed for fire wood. I will use these to create the roofing trusses which will make the project go faster and I can pre-build them on the ground and have them ready to go up when the walls are in place. Using plates like these is easy and they create a very strong structure. If I have enough I would also use them to fix them to the the top plate of the walls, but I may have to get another box of these to do that- there are 12 in this box, which is enough for the roof trusses themselves, but not enough for more than that. These plates are uniform in size, well made and easy to use...I'll cut boards to size and then fit them together on a bench and simply back these into place where boards butt together to create the trusses. Its just that easy.

Building a truss
Going to build a truss for a sawmill. Was looking for connectors and these came up. Think they will work just fine. Seem sturdy and look like other truss connectors I have seen.
