The pieces are all natural and a right size so it can absorb even light liquid which someone is though for some products. My test was with a power steering liquid on a vinyl piece which you can see cause the light liquid to run. The product absorbed the oil and only after a few second there were already clump. Then it was just a matter of sweeping and collect into a contained to properly dispose. The quantity you see in the picture is exactly what was used for the small oil test.

I normally use conventional, granular type oil absorption product for shop oil spills. My local store was out of stock so I tried this product and it’s didn’t work well at all. I had a large transmission oil spill and after 2 days it picked up less than 50%. It’s the consistency of very dry sawdust and tends to blow around when spread. I like the fact that it’s environmentally friendly but it’s not effective on spills.

To expensive and moldy.

While I dig the use of hemp for an absorbent this is no absorb•all. It’s dusty which I mean kind of beats the purpose and only works when it sits for a minimum of 10 minutes. It might help contain a spill and would be better than nothing. However, I’d rather the real stuff. While it works-ish I’d shop around before purchasing.
