I purchased this book for a gift. This book gave much insight into prayer using author's life experiences to explain prayer. I recommend this book to anyone looking to expand your knowledge of prayer.

I have turned to Stormie's books several times over the years, especially during difficult times, because I love that she helps me focus and prays scripture. I'm in a season of serious deliverance and freedom and I feel like I want to focus on myself and my relationship with God right now. God is so faithful to meet us when we pursue Him and this book has helped me do just that. I always appreciate the chapter that precedes the prayer because it is thought-provoking and sets the perspective for prayer time. Great help once again in praying specifics and praying scripture. Powerful.

I love all of Stormie's books, they are inspirational and so easy to read. She brings such hope and inspiration daily. I feel as if she know me and is there praying with me in whatever need I am experiencing or brings so much praise and thanksgiving for all the blessing received. She is truly a devotional prayer partner in time of need or in time of thanksgiving.

Like every book by Stormie Omartian, this one gave new insights into God's word. It helps you stay focused on praying every day. It's not a devotional as much as a go-to-guide for keeping your prayer life on track. Whatever you need to pray for, you will find something in this book to guide you, including the relevant scriptures to pray. She explains topics such as, understanding what Jesus did for you, the Holy Spirit, overcoming fear, learning to live in God's love, controlling negative thoughts and emotions, healing, trusting God and enduring tough times.

Love all her books and highly recommend them!

I love all of Stormie Omartian books. She writes with heart and soul, and backs ups everything she says with Scripture. Now that is what a Christian author should do. Its not just her opinion or her experience alone, its what God wants us to know about Him and what He wants for us to know and understand for ourselves. How to grow in Christ and how to not let life defeat us. It's a win win situation whenever you read her books.

The Power of a Praying Life begins with the question "How Can I Make My Life Work?" which is something we all wrestle with at various times or most of the time. This is a book not to just read, but to study with, to learn from, and to share with others. I found it helpful to write almost a journal of my own thoughts and prayers as I read each chapter and its relevant bible verses. I will use both the book and my journal to live a more powerful fulfilling Christian life.

This is a powerful book. I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking to understand what Jesus death accomplished and why we have a right to all that he has accomplished. Also, this book leads you into a deeper prayer life which in turn draws one closer to God. This is truly a great book and I'm glad that I ordered it: It is changing my life.

Stormie, Omartians' books are brilliant. Simple, thought provoking and challenging. I believe this book would be an excellent resource for home groups as well as for individual study. This book holds our hand while we explore the delicate, sensitive and hidden areas of our lives that need to be explored at some point sooner or later in our Christian journey. Unless of course as soon as we are Christian we are perfect and have nothing to declare which is seldom if ever true. We are forgiven all but often don't forgive ourselves. This book doesn't cause us to revel or get bogged down in our mess or pain it helps make a place to see the obstacles, honestly address and move through them to what our father has in store for us It is not a I am perfect and have all the answers book,neither is it a cathartic clear out, its an open honest account from Stormie; that attempts to allow us to be honest with ourselves and go a bit deeper in our faith and enjoy our relationship with our father God; uncluttered by our own fears, lack of forgiveness etc. She helps her reader see that obstacles in the path to a wonderful rich relationship with the Lord are our obstacles and can be cleared up to allow us to move on to deeper relationship with Jesus. This book needs to be read in conjunction with "the power of a praying life prayer and study guide. Stormies book in my opinion seem inspired from a painful childhood and transformed and inspired into something extremely useful. Her books are a middle path between slush and lectern bashing severity. I found her books helpful intelligent, simple and beautiful. I would recommend them to all.

Excellent book Stormie writes in a way that it is easy to follow and at the same time powerful.

A brilliant book. I have learnt a lot from it.
