OXO Good Grips Seafood Scissors

These worked great for cutting lobster tails to butterfly and bake compared to the kitchen shears that I normally would use. I'm happy that I finally purchased these! So much more sharp. OXO seems to have good quality kitchen items, but I have not had these very long and only used once so I cannot say for sure on how they will hold up.

Does what it is needed to do. I purchased to cut open the cooked shell of lobster and worked very well on upper and lower parts of the shell. When I went to wash it, it comes apart easily and goes back together easily.

Not sure if it was the lobster or the scissors but it left the shells jagged and some of them fell apart. But they do easily disassemble for washing. That was a plus.

These scissors came in handy and made shelling crab very easy. They are sharp and angled so it cuts the shell and not the meat. The scissors disconnect at the joint to make washing easy.

Heavy duty, sharp, great handle. I use them for cutting through dried cod skins.

We eat seafood probably 2-3 times a month. We love to purchase the small 4-5 oz lobster tails when they're on sale and same goes for crab legs (king crab if we find those locally) and these cut the shells so easily. Definitely recommend.

It may be good at cutting prawn and crab shells (which I haven't tried!) but not excellent for all types of seafood. To cut off spiny dorsal fins of a small barramundi, I had to put a lot of pressure with two hands! The blades are small and not that strong. It did the job at the end so I'm giving it a 4 star.
