These are surprisingly very good cable testers even with the cheap feeling build quality, network tests works great, extra light is handy i suppose if you ever need to check in tighter darker areas, and the scan tool works really well, does fade quite a bit over about 40 / 50 metres of cable which can be expected specially in office i checked that has about 40 or more different other network cables so would have more interference / noise to get through.

Works great, makes wiring up network sockets a doddle.

Although this item is of reasonable quality, it fails to respond to the variable settings correctly unless I flicker the dials.

Fantastic product, Made really well, Use this with many of home improvement projects. This system was absolutely great for tracing CAT 5 wires. Easy to use. Recommend this to anyone in the tec field as well. Really like the fact that it this has a light at the end of it makes it easier when looking at what your working on/testing.

If you ever have to test or trace wires do yourself a favor and get this product! I have used it for wires for my computer and in testing components of a moped I am trying to repair and I love it! So easy to use and the multiple connectors it comes with makes life even easier. So many uses and so much time saved for so little money. Can't figure out why I didn't buy one of these years ago!

I was working at home and trying to figure out what network cable went where and this was a life saver. Even for someone that doesn't think they will use this much, once you get it you will find it invaluable. From tracing network, phone or even power lines this thing works great. You can tone the through the wall and across the floor or ceiling. I used it mostly to trace where one network cable went into the pile of spaghetti wires in the basement.

This is a simple device to help tell if you have a broken wire in one of the 4 pairs. It confirmed for me that my long run of Ethernet had not been damage while being ran but instead I just had a bad connection at one of the punch downs and helped me focus on only 2 of the 8 wires and therefore saved me a lot of time and headache. Recommend it as a simple alternative to the more expensive tools for trouble shooting. Always check the simple fixes first.
