Quality A Concern
Bottom of outer doll -wood rough finished. Paint smeared. So called “ Russian Doll” made in Chinois. Depending on your level of taste it may be acceptable.

Well painted but no protective varnish applied.
We purchased these for nieces. Arrived in a plan brown bag with no padding. Very poorly packaged. The nesting dolls themselves were painted well but no varnish or other protective finish had been applied. I had expected the seller to make some modest effort to protect these dolls before putting them into the mail system. We were lucky they were not damaged.

Mediocre quality
Based on labels it was manufactured in China. Compare and shape, colors and glossiness with materials can made in Russia, clearly show that this is low quality doll.. see picture of comparison with real deal.

Rough Wood
Really like that its hand painted but its rough like it wasn't sanded prior to painting and there is no protective coating like varnish or polyurethane. I would do it myself but I don’t know if the paint is oil based or water based. The bottom is extreme course wood. I hoped for higher quality for an heirloom type of toy.
