I don't know why every other countertop compost bin has a lid that doesn't completely close or even massive holes where fruit flies can get in and lay their eggs. Gross, gross, gross. This one, in contrast, closes completely, and doesn't have any weird nooks and crannies where the flies can set up their nurseries. It's super easy to clean with a rinse or in the dishwasher (the lid too) and doesn't really retain odors. I also like that it has a little notch in the back where you can tuck the liner bag, if you use one. I got the smaller size and it's plenty big if I empty it every 3-4 days.

UPDATE I eventually found a way to contact customer service, and after a little back and forth they sent me the bracket. The bracket was simple to install with three screws on the inside of my cupboard, and I now have the perfect little compost bucket hidden away, but easy to access right below the sink. The bucket just lifts off so I can sit it on the counter while cooking and then hide it away when I’m done. I wish the bracket came with a stick-on option, so I didn’t have to put holes in my cabinet door, but that’s just a minor preference. It’s a little on the expensive side, but that’s par for the course for these things. —- I want to like this bin as it's the perfect size for my needs; however, I bought it with the intention of mounting inside my kitchen cupboard with the "bracket included" described in the product description (pic). There is no bracket included, and the packaging indicates that the bracket is not included. Also, I can't find an option to purchase the bracket separately. Without the ability to hang this, it's just a very expensive plastic bin.

For years we used a large whipped topping container, but it was hard to keep clean-looking due to its whiteness. This has a top I can lift with that flips back down after I put in the work vegetable matter. It also is a nice green that is unobtrusive and doesn’t show any dirt.

I keep it in the freezer to keep compost from getting smelly. Has held up great! Plus it’s a cute little container.

Good quality, good size for a small kitchen counter. The top fits well enough so the fruit flies can't get in. Happy with the purchase.

Cubo pequeño en tamaño pero enorme en utilidad. La tapa se queda arriba si lo necesitas y las bolsas de basura de su tamaño se adaptan a la perfección. Ideal para basura de una persona o dos. El tamaño puede parecer pequeño, pero es justo lo que estaba buscando. Queda ideal en la cocina. Se evita que el cubo coja olor ya que en 3 días como mucho va fuera. Lo recomiendo 100%

Dieser Bioeimer ist klein und praktisch. Der Deckel schliesst gut, das war mir sehr wichtig und ich bin froh, dass es stimmt. Jetzt bleibt der Geruch im Eimer. Der Deckel hat eine Halterung, die auf dem Eimer aufliegt. Diese Halterung ist abnehmbar. Das ist einerseits praktisch, weil man ihn so reinigen kann und die Gefahr minimiert, dass bei der Reinigung der Klappmechanismus kaputt geht. Ausserdem kann man eine Plastik-Bioabfall-Tüte einklemmen. Andererseits ist es wichtig, dass man sich beim Umstülpen und Ausschütten in die Biotonne daran erinnert und ihn festhält, weil er sonst leicht mit hineinfallen kann. Die Farbe Grün finde ich noch nice, da sie nicht so grell ist, sondern schön abgetönt wurde. Das sieht gepflegt aus und das Grün erinnert an die Natur, die auch im Eimer ja enthalten ist. Ein gutes Produkt in meinen Augen.
