Our new SmartTV has plenty of HDMI ports but lacks RCA video and audio inputs, so we bought this converter to be able to use our old VCR and an older DVD player, neither of which had HDMI ports. It was easy to use and worked immediately when connected between the video player RCA jacks and the HDMI port on the TV. Of course, you will need both cables, which came with the converter.

I bought this to be able to play my Wii Mini, that I dug out of the attic, on my QLED SmartTv. I'm sure this would work with any retro gaming console, VCR, or older DVD player to make them able to be used with modern HDMI inputs. There is a converter just for retro consoles, but this is definitely cheaper by far and it works. It's power source is a mini USB, which can be poured by the USB port on the TV. It doesn't automatically connect and make the TV switch automatically detect the connected device: you'll have to change your inputs. It's pretty compact and seems pretty durable. It looks well designed as well and the video quality is pretty good for nearly a 15 year old gaming console.

Just what I needed for my DVD/VHS combo player. Easy to set up and I am so thankful that I found it so that I can once again watch my old VHS videos.

Criteria for my review: 1) Did it turn on? 2) Where the materials used of decent quality? 3) Was there good sound quality? 4) Was there good color accuracy/picture quality? 5) Would I buy this again? 1) Yes, the RCA to HDMI adapter turned on. 2) No. The RCA to HDMI adapter is extremely light weight and made of thin plastic material. There was a noteable odor coming from the plastic which is known as off-gassing and is a strong indicator that the item's plastic material is breaking down due to polymer degradation. It's clear to me this item will not last. 3) No. The sound quality was lacking; it was around 40% more quiet than standard sound and was slightly muffled. 4) It is tolerable. The color accuracy was slightly diminished and picture quality was slightly blurry. 5) No. Due to the polymer degradation, not only will this product not last very long but this product's design means it needs a power source to function. I consider these two qualities combined to be a potential fire hazard. Should the plastic degrade quickly enough to melt, the wire inside of it may arc causing a fire. I find this product not worth such a risk. This product should not ever be connected to mains power and most certainly should not be left unattended. I tested this using a dvd player and a disc which I know works and looks nice on screen.

Podria mejorar el producto por el precio la imagen es un poco distorsionada no hay diferencia con los productos que venden de 90 o 100 pesos pense que hiba a mejorar la calidad de imagen, por el precio y lo que ofrecia,,pero no solo cumple para transmitir imagen de media calidad

cet appareil fonctionne très bien, aucun problème avec le nintendo64 très content d'avoir pris la chance d'en commander un. Pour moi, c'est un 5 étoiles

My husband chose this converter package. It arrived right on time and was exactly as described. Instructions are clear. Now if I could only get my husband to install it...

Didn't know the converter itself requires power. Wasn't a deal breaker because my power bar is right where i have them and it has usb slots but could be a problem for others as they give you a relatively short cord and it's an old style usb.
