The sophistication and product maturity of the 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite is very apparent. As a dedicated electronic reader/MP3 audiobook player I think this is the best of its kind out there. PaperWhite screen is even more readable than paper... and it feels like a book (maybe except for a poor choice of location of the on/off switch on the bottom edge where it gets hit whenever you bump the bottom of the device) but with all the advantages (enough internal storage) of being able to hold/download several books at a time which makes it a perfect traveling companion. The relatively new IPX8 waterproof rating provides peace of mind when reading on the beach or poolside (and even in the bathtub?). A month of battery life (depending on your usage) is great -easily enough for almost all my personal/business trips. The software is also great and expands the entertainment with perfect features such as access to a dictionary, X-Ray for related background info, see other references/mentions in the current title, Wikipedia (with wiFi), and so on. Finally, the Kindle library is almost endless availability of titles, and the local library's digital collection and support is outstanding (much faster availability than waiting for the paperback edition to come out. Note: this is not a tablet hence not a good web browser and small size screen but as a replacement e-reader for popular books and literature it hits the bullseye.

Bought this Paperwhite for my mom. I already have this exact model. I love everything about it. My mom says it makes reading easier for her too. I can literally read on this an any light setting, including bright sun with no issues. I love the portability, and plop it in my purse and it goes everywhere with me. The battery life is amazing. I often go a month or more without having to charge, and I read everyday. This model is a lot more responsive than the Paperwhite (previous model) that I had. I like the wireless charging option because half the time I can't find the cord because it goes so long in between charges. This Kindle has changed my life!!!! And brought me back to my love of reading. Hands down would recommend!!!

Love it! Easy to set up. Down loaded account from previous kindle without a problem. Easy to understand and use. Holds a charge for a long time. Can adjust screen font and display to my needs. Very light so easy to hold and does not heat up in my hands. Great value for the money.

I bought this as a gift for my wife for her anniversary. She enjoys reading and previously was using her iOS devices to read electronic books. This is just such a substantial upgrade and while it may seem having a dedicated device just to read is not necessary it really makes a big difference. The device is well-made and set up was quick and easy. Readability rather inside or outside and full sun was excellent. Its overall size is also great for travel and it is light weight. Would recommend for all avid readers.

My old PaperWhite was still working, but I was tired of its glacial pace and it's frequent need for charging. I gave it to my grandson. The upgrade gave me more real estate, faster response, and the battery lasts. It is lighter, so much so that it gets away from me sometimes. When it happens, I inadvertently invoke various controls, and sometimes I find myself many pages away from where I was reading. I might prefer a different case that gives me better control of the whole device.

I got an old kindle at a thrift shop and was really impressed. For something that was 12 years old, I was able to read most of my ebooks from Amazon as well as the library. Some books did work due to newer formats that were unsupported by that device. After reading a few books I really wanted an integrated light which the kindle paper white had. So, there was a deal on Amazon for a bundle and I went for it. I am very happy with the new kindle paper white. The light took some adjusting too. I changed the color temperature to be more brown rather than the default blue. The ability to adjust the color is a big deal. Don’t skimp on it. Having said that, an external light makes the kindle look much more like paper while the internal light kind of kills that illusion.I can fit every single book I have and then some. The Home Screen is a bit of a bummer though with the majority of the space controlled by Amazon for ads rather than my book collection.I was not jazzed about the cover at first but after time I have come to like it. Considering the price for the bundle, it is worth it for what you get.The charging stand is nice, I use it only so often. It would be useful if it worked with other devices. A dedicated stand for the kindle is useful if you have a dedicated space for it. On my nightstand, space is limited and I’d rather not dedicate a charger to it. The charger works well, and the kindle fits in it with the cover on just fine.Overall, for the price, the bundle was totally worth it. I look forward to trying out their new scribe version that you can take notes on.
