A Long-Term Testimonial
The Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill Delivers Enduring Quality Purchased back in 2022, I deliberately held off on reviewing the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill. I wanted to ensure that its performance wasn't just a fleeting first impression and that it truly lived up to its advertised long-lasting nature. After several years of consistent use, I can confidently say this pepper mill is a kitchen workhorse. From the moment you unbox it, the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill impresses with its heavy-duty construction. This isn't a flimsy kitchen gadget; it feels substantial and robust in hand, a clear indicator of its durability. True to its initial feel, this grinder has proven exceptionally durable, withstanding the rigors of daily use without any discernible wear and tear. What's most remarkable is that this device performs exactly the same now as it did when brand new. Grinding pepper remains an effortless task, producing a consistent and easily adjustable grind size with smooth, reliable operation. It has maintained its efficacy without any decline in performance, a testament to its quality build. A crucial reminder for potential buyers: this specific Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill features a steel grinding mechanism. While excellent for peppercorns, steel grinders can corrode and become damaged over time if used with salt. If you're seeking a matching salt grinder from Luvan, be sure to order their dedicated salt mill, which is equipped with a ceramic grinder designed to handle salt without issue. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a pepper mill that combines a heavy-duty build, long-term durability, and consistently effortless performance, the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill is an excellent investment that has truly stood the test of time. Just remember to reserve this particular model for pepper to ensure its longevity and opt for their ceramic grinder for your salt needs.

Pepper Howitzer revised
This is a great pepper mill. There was an initial design flaw. But Luvan corrected it. The part I photographed has a Hex nut that goes into the hole. It just spins. It’s like a clutch, so now you turn the cap and the grinder doesn't engage. The cap just spins like a top. Apparently a part is missing from the cap. When you get one of these look to see if the hex nut cover is on the cap, without it, the pepper grinder wont spin. Otherwise it has good weight. I really like the grind settings. I was considering the more expensive mannkitchen cannon, but having the grind settings on the cylinder was preferable, easier to set on the fly. Have gone through too many ceramic grinders. Just tossed an Ikea in the can, and my Oxo now feels like VW compared to this CNC milled BMW. But had to go back to my OxO as this one became useless. I contacted HeiGeek Park the Luvan seller. I got a message back in chinese. They asked for photos and video which I provided. I heard back from them eventually. Luvan web site doesn’t exist anymore. Through their customer chat on Amazon worked, I asked them for a new cap. They sent me a new pepper mill. They didn’t have any caps. But it works great and has the hex lock washer. I couldn’t be happier. I want to travel with it, go to restaurants with it! Who knows what crappy pepper the Outback uses. Part 2. March 6 2025 So I’ve got two luvan’s. I got one for the kitchen and one for the dinner table. I read about the comparisons between Mannkitchen and Luvan. 100 bucks vs the 200 plus black Mannkitchen ( Mannkitchen? Really) pepper cannon. Couldn’t they make a pink one and call it the mother of all cannons? The Mannkitchen pepper cannon implies designed or inspired in the USA by a small business. In actuality both are made in China. The grind control on my luvan is in a very convenient place, on the cylinder. With 12 incremental settings and 4 sub increments, 48 settings, can you conceive having any more? Plenty of settings to shoot pepper on your steak or at an unwanted guest comming into your kitchen. You can always throw the thing at someone too. It’s Hefty. The M pepper cannon grind control is under the grinder, causing your fingers to get peppery. So don't rub your eyes or nethers afterwards. Also the grind control isn’t as precise. Good consistency in the grind is in part due to a good pepper corn. I like a thick hearty sharp Cambodian black pepper and if the pepper is good and fresh you will get an even spread. With my Luvan, I don’t use the extra fine setting much. And with my eyes it looks like a sprinkle of angle dust floating over my pasta. The luvan had great customer service. They appreciated the google translate function. I’m sure Mannkitchen does too., and maybe they speak English. But again both made in China The two selling points were the grind control placement, and the price. Still, to spend 100 bucks on a pepper grinder, you’d need to be a bit OCD on your grind control. People that spend over 100 bucks on a pepper grinder probably spent 700 or more on their coffee maker too. I liked the luvan. I bought two. I didnt have the patience to buy a Mannkitchen and compare. I don't get freebies from amazon. One day maybe I’ll cough up the 200 bucks for the Mannkitchen, try it, and then send it back (seriously, doubt it though). The Luvan has a good feel and grind. Save the 100 bucks for the specialty Himalayan pink salt grinder.

Chef quality pepper grinder!
This is the larger version of this pepper grinder, intended for kitchen use. It is still the same beautiful, sleek design as the smaller table top version, but it holds a larger amount of pepper and has a removable cup on the bottom to catch the pepper after you grind it. This removable cup makes it easy to grind a larger amount of pepper and then measure what you need for cooking. It also has the option to deside what size pepper flakes you need for each dish. Great design!

Not for the Heavy Handed!
Awesome pepper mill! Ultra, ultra efficient. Takes only an extremely light/slight turn to get a good portion of nicely ground pepper. As has been said, it's got quite a heft to it. All indications I get are that it's well made and will last much, much longer than I will. Highly recommend. 2+ yr. update: Continues to outperform. Love it and the newer/lower price make it a great gift idea. thx Luvan

I've been wondering how long it would be before cheaper versions of the pepper cannon came out and in some ways this beats it! The external grind size adjustment is much more convenient and while it advertises 12 adjustment sizes there are plenty of clicks in between so you get much more control than advertised. The pepper cannon itself is just a clone of the recent wave of conical steel-burred coffee hand grinders and is far too expensive compared to what's available on the coffee space. If you bought a Timemore C2 and only used it for coffee you could probably save even more. The axle alignment in this product isn't perfect but you absolutely do not need that for pepper so don't pay it another thought, it's more than good enough. In summary, you get plenty of pepper with each crank, lots of control over the adjustability and a great grind range. The output slows down massively at ultra fine grind sizes but you really don't need it that fine anyway and it this point it's an issue with physics, not the grinder itself. The grind size uniformity could be a little bit better due to a small amount of burr wobble but this isn't really relevant seeing as it's pepper not coffee. I'm not going to be doing a pepper pour over.

Me compré este molinillo porque quería un molinillo de calidad que no tuviera un diseño clásico. En cuanto a diseño y a funcionamiento todo bien, el único pero es que el precio es muy elevado, si fuera un poco más barato sería perfecto.

I love pepper and I have dumped it on my food since I was a young boy. I had come to realize that I find your average pepper mill is just either run-of-the-mill or not even functional enough to reliably use. Some people actually use the plastic mills that you get at the grocery store which i find horrifying. I heard about pepper cannons while researching mills which put out pepper more efficiently and i looked at the steel grinder which is used in the most premium brand and compared it to other options. This mill actually has a grinder which is very much in line with the design of the best quality mill you can buy which is great! This mill is less than a third of the price too! The mill is very beautiful and it didn't have branding plastered on the side but it's on the bottom cup which i appreciate. The aluminum body is something that i appreciate, the main body is knurled for better grip rather than smooth which is a great feature. The course adjust knob on the button is snappy, it feels nice to adjust. The best part is that this grinder does grind very efficiently, the steel grinder has channels the funnel the peppers right onto the grinding/cracking area on the device which is just perfect. It's actually so satisfying to have pepper crack out at every turn, it's so nice not to need to crank on a mill so many times just to get a small amount. With this mill you'll be rewarded with abundant amounts of cracked pepper with ease of use. The only one thing i might be concerned about is the strength of the shaft which perhaps is not as strong as I might want. There is a significant amount of torque while turning the grinder while crushing so many pepper corns and for a product that i would like to last a lifetime and then some... It could perhaps have been more substantial. As a summary. Best pepper mill I've ever owned by a landslide. Very high quality. Could perhaps have had a more solid crank shaft but that's speculations. If you love pepper then you need a product like this and the price is actually very reasonable.
