The Golf Club Collector's Edition (PS4)

Great Game for true golfing fans that don't want all the unrealistic power ups that you get in the PGA games nowadays, just pure golf. The controls are difficult to master but if you persevere you will be rewarded with a great feeling when you get that birdie. The creation tool is brilliant and the fact that you can share your creation with so many people over all formats makes for endless possible courses to try out. The handicap system is a stroke of genius, meaning that what ever level you are at in the game you can get a fair chance of being competitive, just like the real game. Only thing stopping this getting 5 stars is the customizing is very limited for your player, would have been nice to be able to get to a more life-like appearance.

I don't normally write reviews, but this game really deserves one. It's absolutely brilliant and way better than the Tiger and Rory versions churned out by EA. I was wary of buying it because there were so few reviews, but got it for a bargain price at Christmas and it's not been out of my PS4 since. The courses are fantastic and you can play hundreds of different ones as the included build course designer allows players to create courses and upload them on line for all to enjoy. You see every dip, slope and contour and I would highly recommend linking your game up with TGCtours.com where you can play on line tournaments, and all your stats automatically feed into the site. Have a look at the site, as you can see what the courses look like and there is a very active and friendly community. If you want a golf game for the PS4, get this, as it's absolutely outstanding in my opinion.

This is a good game with great graphics. Its difficult to master but i personally like that as it makes it challenging and more like the real thing. Lets face it, if you make a bad shot in the real game it can seriously affect your score. the reason i gave it 3 stars is because; well I've managed to reach pro and its become seriously too difficult. There are a few flaws for example, some courses are seriously close to the cliffs, but if you go down the cliff expect to lose 7 shots because you cant get back up and you cant drop the ball. Trust me, when your playing live mode after about several rounds taking about 7 hours and you mess up and cant drop a shot like normal and buggers your score up, you become quite annoyed. Overall though a decent buy but will never replace the golf from the old megadrive. Oh, and i forgot to mention, you also cant apply back spin or forward which is frustrating too.

Bought this after reading reviews and wished i had`nt, First game after 1 round stopped playing screen showed corrupted data and would`nt load again.Got replacement and after 9 holes came up error and threw off my guest player,never to be seen again.From the bit i managed to play,putting is sheer guesswork,no instructions supplied with game and game only saves records for the person whose set up the account so u could play 10 rounds as a guest but have to reset up character each time.Also the commentary is dull and boring even after 1 round.If you want a good golf game go back to the old faithful Tiger Woods on ps2 it saves records for all players,commentary is funny and you get good reactions from players when they miss shots,I`ve sent the 2nd game back and asked for a refund,don`t waste your time and money.

A tad boring, well very boring to be honest. Its certainly no Tiger Woods! The graphics are poor, greens are all the same, the ball doesn't grip like it should when playing lofted clubs and how you are supposed to accurately judge chips and putts is way beyond me. There are no power bars etc to help you gauge power and it has no atmosphere. I have only played it for a few hours but can't see how it will suddenly turn into a great golf game. Not even a patch on 'Everybody's Golf'! Came without an instruction booklet inside the case! Apart from trial and error there is no way to know how to play this game!

A really solid golf game. Would be better with a bit more atmosphere such as crowds and online should be more accessible as i still can't seem to find a game. Love the controls and the putting is spot on. Good graphics (for me anyway). Loads of courses available especially from the active community for this game. I've heard "perfect golf" is good also but not available for ps4. I recommend to keen golfers.

My husband used to be a big playstation fan before our kids came along then he just didn't get time - however now they are a bit older I treated him to a P4 for xmas....he used to be a big fan of the Tiger wood golf games but then I discovered they no longer made these so after much research into other golf games on the market I opted for this one. My husband loves it and rates it better than the older Tiger Woods games - graphics are really good!

If you're a golf fan, I think you'll like it. If Tiger Woods/Now Rory McIlroy/EA offering is FIFA, then The Golf Club is Pro Evolution Soccer. It is probably one of the more realistic sims for golf. There are a few issues; the "short game" parts can be difficult and strangely inconsistent at times. The graphics are also a little bit of a let down. Add to that the movement of your golfer being somewhat inhuman (when playing a downhill lie, he actually looks like he's on the toilet!) and it's far from perfect. Like early versions of Pro Evo, it's also missing any real sponsorship or branded items. However, the game still works and keeps pulling you back for another crack at it. The putting is difficult - but rewarding when you hole out from anywhere outside 8 feet (perhaps as it should be!). There is something satisfying about putting together a good round. It could do with some sort of achievements or golfer improvements as you progress the game but that aside, I can see me getting the virtual clubs out a couple of times per week or so maybe.
