Perimeter Trip Alarm, 12 Gauge Camping Trip Wire Alarm Device, Early Warning Security System for Camping and Property Safety

I just got these in the mail today. I'm using them to keep unwanted critters out of the yard and away from the orchard and garden. I put some T-posts in the ground and I'm securing them to those. I like the mounting holes. They look sufficiently large enough to run zip ties through them. I got some cheap 12 gauge rounds, cut them in half, and I'm relying on the primers to do the job for me. I've found 209 primers are sufficiently loud enough for my needs. The fit and finish on these devices seems really good. They're beefier than the little pen-sized primer-only ones and I like the additional heft. Also, I want to believe the design will stand up to moisture better than the pen-size ones. They feel like decent quality. The springs have a lot of tension and they seem solid enough to do the job. Note- I have not fired one off, but I will give it a try to confirm. If it sucks, I'll update the review.

Works as expected. Perhaps unconventional but we’ve had two water features stolen from our yard. Decided to attach the trip wire to the latest install. Using with 22 shotgun blanks. Definitely loud. Will catch sticky fingers are guard hopefully. Even with video cameras it’s hard for police to pinpoint and they have bigger problems to solve. Petty crimes like this don’t get much attention. Believe the positive reviews! I’m so glad I came across this item and am using in conjunction to my surveillance system.

I had to modify the spring load in order for it to work. Primer wouldn't go off as originally sent, easy fix but I noticed that hole spacing on firing pin varies so some needed more washers.
