Great Biltong maker, very easy to use.
Very easy to assemble, and use. Biltong is ready to start eating from around three days if you like it slightly wet, if not leave it in longer for the drying process to do its thing. Ours never gets switched off, we do 1,5kg of biltong a week, and the family loves it when they visit.

Excellent product
Prompt delivery, easy to assemble and great that it was ‘plug and play’ready with a lightbulb included, along with some biltong spices and hooks for hanging the meat. The first batch of biltong has been made and enjoyed already. I’m sure many more will be made going forwards. Well done on a great product that works extremely well!

Great Biltong Maker
I've used the biltong maker once since it arrived last week and the biltong was great. Although it is not complicated to assemble, it is a bit tricky to get the sides to slot together. Comes with plastic hanging hooks and a spare lightbulb as well as a bag of spices so everything you need to get started. Has a set of instruction on how to assemble which also includes a recipe. Pleased I purchased it and would recommend.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS perfect biltong every time ...over the moon ..thanks a million !!!!
Easy to assemble and I am a woman ....used the old type recipe as above not premade spice ...roast coriander grind in pestle and mortar ..grind pepper corns and salt ....I dont use sugar ...I used slab of unrolled brisket cause I like some fat ...the cutting is very important put meat in freezer till hard (not frozen) cut into 2 cm strips and I cut some thinner for drier option ...put sprinkling vinegar in bottom of plastic box container covering bottom then layer of spices well mixed then layer meat ...sprinkling of vinegar again and spices and layer of meat then mix well all together making sure meat coated in spices ...refrigerate for 2-3 hours NOT overnight as that makes it too salty then hang on hooks making sure they dont touch each other .....FANTASTIC REAL BILTONG !!!!

A good biltong maker with minor niggles
Assembly It's well packaged and fairly easy to assemble. I wish the base and lid had a snugger fit for carrying the unit without the base or lid detaching so easily. But that is a minor niggle and doesn't affect the operation of the unit. Some might say that makes it easier to disassemble and clean. Hanging the meat The aluminium rods can roll about when not laden with meat. This is because they sit on a smooth hanging ledge for ease of repositioning. I wish there was a series of channels in the hanging ledge that could hold the rods in place which would still offer flexible position options whilst securing the rods. Again this is a minor niggle and doesn't affect the operation of the unit. Drying system There is a light bulb fixture and fan built into the lid. The light bulb provides some heat to extract moisture and the fan keeps a constant airflow going through the unit. Having these together at the top of the unit is different from other drying methods. Normally the light bulb sits at the bottom of the unit and is shielded from the hanging meat. The purpose of the light bulb in these type of units is to heat the air in the unit. The warm air rises up over the meat and out the top of the unit pulling cold air in from the bottom and repeating the process. A convection current. The fan is there to assist with airflow and can be left out or used on its own. I'm not sure if putting the fan and light bulb together at the top of the unit defeats the purpose of a convection current. The light bulb will be trying to pull air up through the unit whilst the fan is blowing the air down. Or maybe the fan is blowing what little warmth there is from the light bulb into the unit. The fan could also be cooling the bulb in which case it's having no effect at all other than providing light. Conclusion Having said that the meat is drying. The unit is well made and looks like it will last a long time. If you're not prepared to make your own unit then this is definitely a good buy.

Fan not strong enough
Fan not strong or big enough,had to put laptop cooling pad in place of lid after 24h meet was aseame as when it went in,box is fine but fan not strong enough

Excellent quality for price.
Excellent product delivered in good time. The product was easy to assemble and can be done in minutes. It came with a packet of spices and some meat hooks which I was not expecting. First batch is already in.

Easy to build, easy to use, great all rounder!
Cant fault it. There was slight damage on one of the panels and a replacement was sent within days. Easy to follow instructions on how to put it together and to make your Biltong. Which, by the way, was delicious!! Bought as a gift but I'll certainly be getting another one for me. Roll on pay day!!
