One of the best deals on Amazon
I used to have access to a soft light set at work that was decent but clunky and unpredictable. I changed departments and could no longer use it for my freelance gigs, and decided I needed to invest in some lighting of my own. I read some good reviews of this Neewer set and, having had luck with some of their other products, decided to give it a try. To be honest though, considered the price, I thought they'd be cheaply made and work poorly. Boy, was I ever wrong. These things are absolutely incredible. Fully dimmable (from incredibly subtle to blindingly bright), not only for the luminance but for the color spectrum as well. Forget just "daylight" or "tungsten"--you can dial these in to meet any color temperature you could possibly need. In terms of directing the light, the barndoors on the lights are pretty rugged and easy to use. The come with stands (probably the weakest part of the package, but they still work), but you can also hang the panels on walls as well, which is incredibly helpful. Best of all, the lights can run off of either AC power OR batteries! The ability to shoot battery power has been a godsend for wedding video shoots where I'm up on a hill somewhere, half a mile from an electrical outlet. The set comes with four batteries and four chargers, and seeing as they're the same batteries that I use to power my external HD monitor, they really come in handy! Lastly, they come with nicely made, easily portable bags for the lights and chargers (a bag for the stands would have been a nice add, but you can't have everything) which make taking them on video shoots really convenient and they take up very little space. Can't recommend these enough. If these were to ever break, I'd replace them in a second. I might even buy a second set just so I can do more complex lighting setups. I've been a videographer for 20+ years, and as set like this would have been a dream back in the '90s, rather than lugging around a 100lb ARRI kit all day that needed color and ND filters, etc.

Portability Improvements for Lights and Soft boxes
I recently received this combination and think it is a fantastic value for the quality and cost. I also purchased the square soft boxes that match the LED panels which I highly recommend to take the edge off the direct lights. The batteries make it a very attractive option for portability but there are two small issues that I wanted to resolve. 1. The time it takes to attach the soft box to the panel and then to wrap everything back up again. The soft boxes are almost impossible to get back into their original small case and you still have 4 bags (2 panels, 2 softboxes) and the stands to carry when you finish. My solution was to purchase a pizza carrying bag that is 18"x18x5. Now I just collapse the soft boxes and leave them attached to the panels. Both fit into the pizza carrier and the stands fit into my tripod bag. It takes seconds to set them up and they fit perfectly in the pizza bag. 2. Forward tilt does not work with the softboxes attached. This is a well known issue and the simple solution is to purchase a swivel bracket. There are many and I bought the Anwerk version which also includes the adaptor for strobe flashes and umbrellas which I needed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072JRNNTG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Now I have everything I need for lighting on the go. Total cost was around $300 including lights, softboxes, stands, batteries, chargers, swivel adaptors and umbrella. The softboxes might not be big enough for a professional studio but I find them excellent for portability and they do a great job. Very happy with this combination and now it's even better when on the go.

Worked as needed
Ordered and used these lamps for a Christmas picture of children with a Christmas backdrop also purchased on Amazon. These lights worked great. Really nice having the ability to use battery packs so people wouldn't trip on light cords. The ability to adjust warmth on the lights and the light intensity was also nice. I like this set because it comes with everything needed to get started. Happy with my purchase because things worked out well. LED also keeps it from getting hot in the lights.

Great lights for video interviews. But how do they travel?
I have very little bad to say about these lights. They work incredibly well, come with AC adapters so they can be operated off of a outlet. If you plan to use it on batteries alone I would advise picking up some extra batteries as a precaution. Not that they have a short life but you don't want to get caught short on a shoot. Depending on what you plan to use these lights for, I would highly suggest purchasing the softbox attachment for these lights from Neewer (I will put a link at the end.) While the lights do come with a diffusing panel it is still pretty harsh so adding the softbox makes it an ideal setup for me. Throw in the fact that you can add colored gels and it is just icing on the cake. I am traveling to south america in a few months to do some video work in the jungle and intend to see how well these lights travel. I will do my best to update you after the trip.
