30W R39 SES Reflector bulb (lava lamp) X 10

Bought this product as I thought my lava lamp of 15 years had died as the wax wasn't moving with the lamp I bought from the supermarket. Put this lamp in and my wonderful Mathmos lava lamp is back in full working order. I thought I was buying one lamp but there are 10 in the pack meaning I have inadvertantly bought literally a lifetimes supply! Which makes the lamps wonderfully cheap as well as effective. These lamps should see me out!

One bulb blew after two hours, altogether of the 10 bought I have used six in a period of about two weeks, but the bulbs that are in the lampholders now have been working for 4 weeks and seem to be settled. It may be that having to come through the postal system weakens some and you have to take that into account I guess.

When the last bulb for my Mathmos lava lamp dies I thought I might struggle to replace it as I thought they were trying to make it difficult to buy incandescent bulbs these days. Supermarkets and hardware shops did still have them, but when I saw these, and a tiny fraction of the price, I just had to give it a try. Well, they arrived quickly and in one piece, and so far have had no problems. Even if they only last half as long as the ones I've had in the past, ten bulbs seems like it could be a lifetime's supply, so I'm happy. You could be happy, too.

So what are we going to do with our lava lamps once we can only buy LED bulbs? The lava lamp is one of very few traditional bulbs left in the house - it's only allowed to be switched on for special occasions now, or special occasions and whenever one of the children is sat near it... Having bought one reflector bulb from ASDA and finding it was too long to fit under the lava chamber (or whatever it's called), I thought I'd give these a try. You'll have probably seen that there are mostly good reviews for the bulbs, but still a concerning number of people reporting that the bulbs don't last very long. You might be a bit concerned about this, but here are the facts as far as my experience is concerned: It costs a little over £5 for 10 bulbs. That's less than I recently spent on a single LED filament style bulb, so I think that's pretty good value. We are still on our first bulb - going at this rate, we would have enough bulbs for at least 5 years, should the bulb fail tomorrow. I'm happy with that for £5. These bulbs are a perfect fit for Mathmos lava lamps, so if you've been bitten by ASDA's giant bulbs, these are the ones for you.

I purchased these bulbs for my lava lamp after becoming frustrated with the cost of replacement bulbs found locally, when they seemed to only last a few months before sometimes they blew. At the price here it didn't matter so much if the package of 10 only lasted a year or so. They are the correct size & individually boxed so they arrived undamaged. Perfect for the job.

ordered this pack as they are so expensive to buy individually in a shop,needed them for my lava lamp,they are very good,i thought maybe as they were not expensive they would blow quickly but I have only used 1 out of the pack since I bought it and usually have the lamp on every day -very good value for money would definately buy from you again-thanks

The bulbs are pearl, and they last exactly one evening each. The lamp works just fine but the bulb is broken as soon as it has cooled down and you try and switch it on again. Will now buy clear ones and see if they last longer.
