super place mats. I bought the coasters to go with them and now our table looks very smart. I have plain white china and these offset them really well. would buy again.

Wanted some slate placemats for our new kitchen but the other half thought real slate would scratch the table and break easily. Saw these and I really can't fault them. They look real but have all the benefits of being cork backed and easily washed. Family have commented how nice they are

Nice placemats and coasters but a lot bluer than I was expecting from the picture on Amazon. Have kept as don’t look too out of place in my new kitchen. But just be aware that they are more blue than grey.

Good quality placemats. Well made and easily cleaned. However, the description of the colour is slightly misleading. I would have expected midnight slate to be grey and they do look grey on the picture. They are more blue than grey. Maybe a good idea if the seller pointed this out in the description. Good quality so have kept them.

There isn't really anything to dislike about these placemats, although the grey slate colour might not appeal to everyone. As regards durability, it's a bit early to judge that as I've only just got them. However, they seem well-made and I'm expecting that they will give me many years of service. Like most placemats with a cork backing, you shouldn't immerse them in water, and you can't put them in the dishwasher. But they are easy to wipe clean and the top surface seems able to cope with expected use if used sensibly.

As you can see the mats look great but they chip very easy for the price I expected better

I wanted the small size placemats four our kitchen table. These are simple and elegant, not a flashy design that could clash with my dinnerware. Very nice.

Took forever to get here. These placemats are tiny-only 9 inches. Too small to fit a normal dinner plate. Tried to return but have to pay postage, a whopping $117 minimum shipping cost for a $72 item!! Never again Pimpernel!!! These are useless.
