Surprisingly good light. Strongly recommend.
If you need a great flash light, this is it. It is expensive but you are getting an above average flashlight. If you are a hunter, I strongly recommend this light. It easily illuminates up to 100 yds. I like the size, quality, ease of use, durability, and battery life. Do recommend, would buy again.

Great flashlight
I really like the size of this flashlight, not too big or too small, and for 2000 lumens, it performs amazingly well. The USB-C rechargeable battery is a big plus, and it shines very brightly. The packaging also comes with clear instructions. I’m an airline pilot, and I tested it during a nighttime aircraft walk around. It lit up everything perfectly. Highly recommended for any fellow pilot who needs a reliable, powerful light.

Super bright, rechargeable, & reliable
Awesome bright light with different brightness settings and a rechargeable battery. I'm a fireman and this light is great. A little on the bigger side compared to other helmet lights, but with the 2,000 lumens its worth it for those low light situations when I need to see what I'm doing on the job. Sometimes its even too bright and I need to dial back the brightness so I'm not blinding everyone, but I'd rather have too bright than not bright enough. I went through several other cheaper options that all melted and fell apart in fires before I committed to spending the money on this flashlight. Sometimes cheaper is more expensive, so why not spend some money on a good light that will last. The battery life has been great as well. I've only needed to charge it a couple of times this year. The times I have charged it was mostly to top off the battery after spending hours fighting a fire at night or on a bad car wreck where I needed to use my helmet light to see, so I jave yet to completely drain the battery on this light. We run Streamlights at my department, so I knew I could count on Streamlight to make a reliable flashlight. No more watching Youtube videos on various flashlight brands, makes, and models to figure out your next purchase. Streamlight has not disappointed so far.

One-year update
June 16, 2024, eleven months pretty much to the day after receiving this light through Amazon, and all is not as well as one might hope. A couple of days ago the light started acting up, inexplicably going very dim on me, not turning on at all, etc.. I thought it must be a low battery, so I swapped the battery out for the fully charged one I always carry in my pocket, and the light's behavior did not change. Now, a couple of days later, the light is functioning mostly normally again, except that I seem unable to switch modes now using the ten-tap mode switching. I just did it successfully once or twice (I don't remember whether it was once or twice), but when I tried to do it a third time to get back to the program I prefer, the light had ceased to care that I was tapping the button ten times. I tap ten times, hold the tenth tap, and the light just happily stays on (it's supposed to dim and then shut off to acknowledge that the program has been changed, and which program it's been changed to). So, at least until it decides to spontaneously change its behavior yet again, the light is stuck in high-beam-only mode. I'm going to see if I have anyplace near me that can service Streamlight flashlights so I don't have to ship it to and from the company itself. =-=-= Original review: I never thought I'd be glad I lost my Surefire Fury Intellibeam, but this light kinda makes me feel that way. It lacks the cool Intellibeam technology that dimmed the light when you used it to read something so that the reflected light wouldn't blind you, but its max output was 1500 lumens to this light's 2000, and this thing is just so elegant and easy to use that I can feel better about having lost the Surefire because it gave me an excuse to buy this. Not only can you charge the battery without removing it from the light, but when you plug it in, a beautiful panel of rich red LED lights up on both sides of the charging port - big and impossible to miss, unlike the tiny red pinpoint of light on the Surefire's batteries. The battery's charging port is also USB-C, so no fiddling around trying to figure out which way the cord has to be plugged in – it can be plugged in either way, unlike the mini USB port and cable the Surefire had. I haven't used the light extensively yet, but I know from having had a Streamlight before that it's going to give me years of trouble-free service, and I'm looking forward to them.

Unbelievable!
I own two of the slightly smaller Streamlights and they take a lot of abuse and keep on going. Brightest flashlights I have ever owned. This model takes it to another level. At 200 yards it lights up the woods like daylight! Rugged, waterproof and easy to charge without taking the battery out, a nice feature from the older models. These flashlights get extremely hot after a few minutes. That is all I need to say about the power these Streamlight flashlights hold. Pricey but worth every penny!

One thing I love about this flashlight are the 3 separate modes you're able to use when turning on the flashlight. - High - Strobe - Low In my profession, I mostly ever use high. However, the other options are great. This flashlight does have the tendency to get hot quickly so be mindful when operating. It is a re-chargeable USB-C battery that appears to be custom made, so if it ever loses its ability to hold charge you'll likely have to order another through Streamlight.

Surefire has been my ‘go to’ for decades. When both failed it was time for a new purchase. Streamlight have a solid 50 year reputation for making robust, quality equipment. The price of Surefires nowadays is simply astronomical and this great torch was a clear winner. Very happy with this purchase.

I most like the long battery life and the size. I'm glad they still use a crystal lens instead of plastic. I'm happy that it uses USB like most of my other devices. I don't like that the charging port cover isn't more secure. Other brands have a screw closed port that is much better. Also, the charging port it just the one on the battery. Streamlight just left a hole in the side of the flashlight barrel and then put a cheap sliding cover over it. Weird. If water gets in, it would go directly into the battery compartment. Also perhaps, because the usb c port is the one on the battery itself, it lacks the internal equipment for any sort of fast charge..it takes just over 6 hours to charge this light and that doesn't seem to change when using a fast charger. I really don't like that hole they left leading to the battery charging port. On previous models there were internal charging circuits independent of the convenient direct to battery charging port. The internals were much safer from exposure to the elements. They send to have combined four LEDs rather than using one superior one. It only has so-so better life from the annoying proprietary battery that is over $50 Canadian to replace. There are batteries that are more readily available that are also superior to this one at a much lower price. Streamlight wants you to have to buy any extras or replacements from them. The beam is very wide. A flood, I'd say. The 2000 don't seem as bright as they should as a result. Fit also drops down from that maximum very quickly. It comes with a pocket clip and a holster that is also fine. I use this light working security and I find the included holster is good enough to not motivate me to buy a nicer one. I like it enough. The tail switch is too recessed. You have to use it to see what I mean the protac hl-usb has the perfect tail switch, in my opinion, to compare. Anyway.... For the price.... It's just okay. If you want something from streamlight specifically that offers usb charging and decent bettery life... This is good enough. But not at the price. The flashlight is smooth and offers very little grip..so little that it slides in my hand when I operate the switch. Especially when I'm wearing gloves. The threads for the tailswitch are shallow and not long enough. I put grip tape, like for making stairs safer from slipping on, around it. That fixed that.. I'll post pictures. The charging port still opened perfectly. I'd recommend the HL-X over this light. The hl-x uses inexpensive 18640 batteries that are easy to find. The HL-X so allows for the use of cr123 batteries in a pinch, which I like. It is also a better size to carry, less expensive, has a way higher peak candela, despite its max lumens being half the protac 2.0. it's also fully sealed from the elements.... No external charging port. The threads are also deeper and there are more of them. It's really a better light. Pocket clip that works.either direction and a better tailswitch. Even the grip is good.
