This activity is so much fun! My kids couldn't stop giggling while making it. For children around 5 to 7 years old, it may require a little help from a parent to form the stocking shape, but it's still very simple to complete. The kit encourages creative thinking and emotional intelligence as it's easy to tie, shape, and customize. Clean up is also a breeze if you have a large enough tray. The soil even has glittery gold powder, which made my kids feel like they had found treasure. What a clever idea! I highly recommend this activity for any kids and it would also make a great playdate activity or gift. Just remember to soak the entire stocking in water for 2 to 3 hours after completion.

I bought the grass doll kits for my little nieces as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. When they opened up the box they were wondering how they could make a doll out of seeds. I had to help them open the contents and started to decorate with them. The decorations were simple and easy to assemble and we spent most of the day decorating the grass dolls. I actually felt relaxed while decorating with my nieces. I would highly recommend this activity for time away from the bustle of everyday stress. Every day, they have been watering the dolls, and the grass hair starts to slowly grow. At first, I noticed the hair wasn't growing much after a few days of watering. It could have been due to the cold air or no sunlight hitting the dolls but after I moved the grass doll to a warmer area, it started to grow a lot. I think grass hair grows better in direct sunlight. The girls can't wait to water the dolls and wake up each morning to check on their grass dolls to see if they need a haircut today or a new hairstyle. I think these grass dolls have become the new Barbie dolls. Definitely will buy more and pass it along to close friends and most of all, the price is too good of a bargain.

Gave these out as party favors at a 7-year old’s birthday party and the kids loved them. Parents loved them too (better than getting a bag full of small plastic stuff that kids hardly use, clutter the home, and fill the landfills). It’s easy to make. The glue works surprisingly well. I didn’t think it would stick once wet, but it does. We added glue to the eyes sticker, because the sticker did come off. Ours started growing after a few days and has continued growing. You really do have to stay on top of watering it, especially if it sits in the sun. It dries out quickly. Plus, it can be tricky to get the water to absorb through the stocking. We’ve had ours out for two months now and he still looks good. Highly recommend.

Thought I was buying 6 (especially for the price I paid) and only received one! Very disappointing!

I'm a teacher at an elementary school, and I used the kits as one of my center activities. My kids (first and second graders) had a blast. They were very excited to design their little grass dolls and were very engaged. I did have a parent helper putting the seeds and soil into a stocking. A grown up is needed in this process. I soaked the dolls in a 16oz plastic containers filled with water. They started to grow within a week. First, grass looks thin, but they grow nicely in green after. Only thing I want to warn you is that you really have to pay attention when you place seeds. Make sure seeds stay on the bottom so when you put the doll upside down, grass will grow as hair. Unless, you will have the doll that looks like the one in my last picture.

This is an amazing idea. Kids enjoy doing this and very educational. This can be great idea for kids birthday party favor also. The picture is how it looks about 10 days of sprouting. There is no failure for the seeds to sprout.

The packets in the box are so organized, and the instructions are easy to follow. My boy really enjoyed making his own doll. The grass hair started to grow on day 5 even though it couldn't get enough sunlight. I strongly recommend this item for goodie, because it's cute, simple, and NOT wasteful.

I received these adorable cute dolls as gift from my friend and I love it and my kids were having a blast time making these dolls with their friends. It's an EXCELLENT way to have fun with entire family, friends, and even with those middle school child who's going through puberty. Since there are 6 packs, I invited the friends of my kids to make these dolls together and had them take home as a gift. My younger one likes to watch the doll hair grass grow every day and talk about it with his friends.
