It works great. Does exactly what it is said to do.

Bought it to frighten bats away from the front door. Ooof…. Bats seem to like this owl but all other pests are deterred. Excellent. Good quality.

I ended up returning this product as the motion sensor was whacky. I let the owl charge in my driveway for several hours and I tested the motion detector by walking around my driveway. It worked exactly as expected as long as I stayed on the driveway and it worked at a very long range, maybe 15 feet or so away from the owl. If I moved a couple of inches into the grass and walked around, the motion detector didn't work at all! I moved the owl closer to the edge of my driveway and walked around - it would only detect motion if my feet were on the driveway - totally failed if I walked in the grass. I placed the owl on the ground in the grass and again the motion detector totally failed unless I walked all the way over to the owl so that my feet were directly next to the owl. I tried setting the owl on a plastic milk crate - again worked great in the driveway but totally failed when sitting on a milk crate in the lawn. I have no idea how the motion detector is supposed to work, but the performance was really crazy and I needed it to work sitting on the lawn.

movement still good after a few months, solar ok for charging but if clouldy have to put it on a charge. makes a screeching sound, keeps the small birds a way. Quality pretty good. everything still works, noise, turning head and glowing eyes. its been out in a few storms and is ok. Dont forget to fill with pea gravel. size is good size for an owl. would suggest moving it around every few days so the birds dont get used to it being in one place. . HOOTIE!!! My boat slip neighbors hadn't met Hootie until one fateful night. They walked up the dock when his head swiveled and his eyes glowed. The girl screamed out of shock and fear. She then fell backwards and went for a quick, unexpected swim. She was ok and Hootie was rewarded with another day in the sun for protecting our boat from birds. Hootie is the man. He keeps the birds away the best that he can. His eyes light up and he can make an evil sound that does everything it can to keep the birds from coming around. He's sturdy and strong and brings fun to ending the war with the birds who poop on my boat. The price was right and he's doing great so far.

We got this for our songbirds setup. Lots of babies in our houses in spring etc. The blackbirds/crows would wait for the babies getting ready to fledge and attack. Thankfully they can't get into the house we set up for only small birds but annoying. This Owl is awesome! We put him out at dusk when the blackbird are looking for a place to spend the night. Blackbirds can't see at night and fear owls big time then. They aren't bothered by owls in the morning so we bring it in first thing in the morning and plug it in. Only takes about 15 minutes to charge. Turn's it's head when anything close at quite a distance even and the eyes glow. We don't use the sound since it's working without. The song birds don't mind it since it's only out at night. He's been out during rain and hail and still works great A win win!!!

I think it's overpriced but it did perform the job of scaring the cat away so I'm keeping it. As far as the unit goes the head stops backwards, but in its defense it does work. In terms of quality this is more like a cheap Halloween prop than anything I would consider a permanent item.

Well, my wife loves to feed the birds and squirrels in our backyard and they gather early for their expected feast. A few crows are in the mix, and we started hearing a tapping sound at the back glass door pane. It was the crows flying right up to the glass and tapping on it making quite a racket. My initial choice of deterrent was a BB gun or poison, but my wife dubbed those choices a bit extreme. So I found this and read about it and other models. Chose this one as the solar power option and moving parts were attractive to me in terms of upping its chance of success. We mounted it at window level on the brick wall right next to the door. To my surprise, its been over a week and no crow drum solos. So far, it has worked flawlessly. Thanks for a great product.

Purchased this product to deter squirrels from chewing my garage lead roof. I thought it would charge itself by solar and therefore could be left in position on the flat lead roof but the rotating head kept returning to different positions and therefore the solar panel was rarely in the correct position facing any sun. I got fed up keep climbing on the roof to retrieve the owl for charging so now don't bother using it.
