Parts Express 2.5 mm Stereo Female to 3.5 mm Stereo Male Plug Adapter

I bought this adapter to use with a coiled extension cord so I could use a headset with my desk phone. Unfortunately all the coiled extension cords have 3.5mm connectors on them and portable headsets have 2.5mm plugs to connect to the 2.5mm jacks found on all phones. I found a right angle adapter on Amazon to go into the phone (2.5 mm stereo Male to 3.5 mm Stereo Female) and use these to allow me to plug my headset into the other end of the extension cord. The fit is tight so there is no added noise that might result from movement of the plug into the adapter. Works great and enables me to use an extension cord with my phone so I don't keep pulling the phone off my desk when I move too much. The cord being coiled keeps it off the floor so it doesn't get caught in the wheels of my office chair.

This adapter works really well and has a true balance in each ear piece. But, because my iPhone SE has a protective outer case with a small opening for the SE's headphone jack, the case interfered with the adapter's metal hub preventing the adapter from fully seating in the SE's headphone socket. To overcome this, I reduced the diameter of the adapter's metal hub which is immediately adjacent to the adapter's black plastic housing, to match the diameter of the adapter's 2.5 mm jack, or plug. When finished, the adapter fully seated in the SE's headphone socket and works perfectly. I did not want to open up the case's access opening for the headphone jack which would have weakened the case, so my personal best bet was to very carefully, and patiently, while wearing OSHA approved safety glasses, grind the adapter's metal hub down to the same 2.5 mm diameter as the plug itself, taking my time to avoid heating and softening the adapter's plastic shell. Once the diameters matched I was able to use my lightweight Panasonic headphones with it's 2.5 mm plug, in my iPhone SE's 3.5 mm socket. Perfect. Headphones with a standard 3.5 mm jack will not need an adapter.

This is exactly the item I was looking for. I had some ear buds that I wanted to use to listen to my Walkman, but the plug was a 2.5mm and the Walkman takes a 3.5mm. This adapter worked great, until the ear bud wire broke just above its plug. As another reviewer noted, using this adapter makes the plug stick out farther, and this caused the wire to bend back-&-forth a lot in my shirt pocket. No fault of the adapter plug mind you, simply a result of constant motion as I walked. So, I would suggest using this for stationary devices, not for anything that will subject your earbud or headphone wire to bend a lot.

I purchased this 3mm adaptor to fit my old 2mm ear phone/mic which came with my previous LG cell phone, since I'd recently upgraded to an HTC Droid. Since I was so fond of the 2mm ear phone/mic I was remiss to simply purchase something else but instead went in search for an adaptor here on Amazon. While the price wasn't much to risk, unfortunately the adaptor just doesn't work well. I have a single-ear plug + mic, so it was my understanding this two-lined adaptor should've worked for it, according to other reviews. And while I can hear my party fine, I'm told I tend to sound as if I'm in a tunnel, and no amount of adjusting of the plug improves the quality. So if you are wanting to use this adaptor for something similar, I highly recommend hesitation and caution in purchasing.

This works perfect for running my wired 2.5 mm headset on my used Galaxy S my roommate gave me to use outside of town to be able to roam in the case of an emergency. The adapter stays plugged in and allows me hands-free operation to punch numbers on the keypad or to use the computer without killing my shoulder and arm holding the phone to my ear. The only drawback of this adapter is it is not stereo. There are only two...rather than three connectors on the male plug...so you will not get stereo when you use this to run a set of external speakers. Other than this...the price is fantastic and allows me to enjoy my conversation rather than how much my arm and shoulder will hurt.

Ordered 2 of these parts -- However, received 3.5 mm female to a 2.5 mm male adapters. That is the opposite as described. Plastic bag enclosing each part was labeled "2.5 mm female to 3.5 mm male", but the part inside was not as described. This indicates a problem with the quality management either from the manufacturer or distributor, since no one checked to see the part in the bag was as described on the bag. Received 2 identical parts -- both the wrong part in bags which said they were the right part. Updated review -- I was contacted by seller, who apologized for the issue with the parts, and offered to replace it at their cost. Very good on their part -- hence I've raised my rating on this. However I've already ordered replacement parts elsewhere. As of this time, I have no problems with the seller, and I commend them for their service. I'd give them 5 for service, but still the part was not as described and ordered. Hence, the 3 in rating. I will order from this seller again -- their service philosophy and approach has moved them to the top of my list. Hopefully, I'll be giving them 5 stars on future orders.

They shipped me the wrong part (it was the opposite of what is listed) but when I sent them an email they immediately agreed to ship the correct part at their expense and offered to let me keep the incorrect one. After I'd gotten it I realized I already had the correct part, so I told them it was okay and I would just keep this one in case I ever needed it. They would have gotten 3 (or less) stars if they'd had crappy customer service, but my experience was excellent and so even though it was the wrong part (mistakes happen) I'm still more than happy to give them 5 stars.
