BIRASIL Indoor Tortoise Habitat for Landscaping, Wooden Large Tortoises Enclosure for Small Animals

This is an awesome enclosure—definitely a challenge to build, but totally worth it! Thankfully, my husband’s the handier one, so we teamed up and got it done together. Tips from our build: • Have a drill and a rubber/plastic mallet on hand to help fit the wood pieces together—just be gentle so the wood doesn’t split • For our Hermann tortoise, we had to aim for a minimum of 8x4 ft of space. We got two enclosures and plan to add a third soon. • For UVB lights, we grabbed three 1x4 8ft planks from Home Depot, cut them to size, and used chains to hang the lights so they’re adjustable. • We used the extra wood to make the setup look more finished and centered. • Before adding substrate, we lined the base with PVC pond liner We aren’t done yet! We want to build a hide for her and maybe add some grow lights for some plants she can graze on. What we love: • Super sturdy • Easy to clean (open design!) • Bigger than your average enclosure • good quality • Looks great Sorta cons: • Definitely not easy to build—took us the whole weekend and a trip to home depot • You’ll need tools (and patience)

I used to be a carpenter by trade back in the day. I purchased this item because it was made out of all wood. It’s made all of white pine surprisingly all the pieces were cut and finished beyond my expectations. Everything fit together as it should all the parts were there. The instructions could have been a little bit better, but all in all it went together in about an hour, everything fit together perfectly. I honestly don’t have any complaints and I’m pretty tough on reviews. My thanks go to the company. Thanks for a good product surprisingly surprised for sure.

Used for my hatchling leopard tortoise and we love it. Stained well, was easy enough to assemble and seems to be holding up great. Love the idea of getting another one and fusing the two of them together as seen in another review as Jean Wyatt gets bigger!

The final finished product is wonderful. I also bought wheels for it from HomeDepot so it’s easier to move. I wish I tacked the fabric up on the sides, but it’ll be okay until I refresh everything. I’ll just lose some bedding/ sand over the tucked edges. Building it was another story, and I’m an experienced builder from scratch and kits. The grooves were too tight for the slats to slide down, despite any amount of hammering. I ended up using a wood chisel to widen all eight slots. It took about 2 hours, twice what I expected. There was a little bit of warping on one slat, but it all worked out assembling as 1person. Really please with the final result.

My tortoise loves his new house! It's very sturdy and was pretty easy to assemble with a power drill and two people. It has drainage holes for outdoor use so we stapled a tarp on the inside so nothing would leak through while we have him indoors for the winter. The water dish/ pool arrived cracked. I reached out to the seller directly and they were wonderful! Sent me a replacement ASAP with no return necessary, and answered my email within the hour.

Took over 4 people to build, compared to most tortoise enclosures, this had to of been the most difficult and tedious one I’ve ever built, it looks great and for the price i guess you can’t go wrong, but just keep in mind the slots for the wooden planks aren’t very wide to say the least.

Exactly how I imagined and it’s honestly so nice for the price!! It comes with a water bowl/pool and a fabric liner AND. Lamp stand!?! All for under $100?!? So worth it for my tortoise hatchlings!! I added a waterproof liner to mine but if you aren’t needing to keep humidity in then the fabric one works great. It is difficult to put together especially if you are trying to do it by yourself. But it’s pretty straight forward once you get it!
