Fiber insulation for wood stove at good price
This ceramic fiber insulation was much cheaper and easier to install than a baffle board for my wood stove which I had previously bought from a different supplier. It seems to be a good replacement for the degraded baffle that was ready to come out after 10 years or more. I just had to cut it to size with scissors, and a mask is recommended to avoid breathing the fibers. It was easy to install due to its flexibility and appears to be doing a good job and holding up well.

Works well for heated exhaust
I bought a small plastic shed and converted it to a generator shed. I cut a hole to pipe the exhaust out the side. After half an hour run time the exhaust would heat the plastic around the hole to about 200f. I made the hole larger and used a piece of sheet metal on the inside and outside of the hole with a smaller diameter than the hole in the shed. The exhaust pipe now rests on the sheet meta rather than on the plastic shed. I used this ceramic fiber insulation between the sheet metal and the plastic wall of the shed on the inside and outside to prevent heat transfer. It works well. It dropped the temps by 40 - 50 degrees.

Incredible thermal protection.
Ceramic insulation is quite versatile. It handles heat so well that people often use it as a wick in DIY camp stoves. In my case, I'm building a portable diesel heater in a plastic box. The diesel heater exhaust can get up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Most people wrap the exhaust with a fiberglass wrap, but it still gets quite hot, and the wrap is difficult to use.. I opted for this ceramic insulation instead. It is so easy to work with and gives protection far superior to the fiberglass wrap. You really can put a torch on one side and barely raise the temperature on the other side. There is ceramic dust, so always play it safe when working with it and especially cutting it. Use gloves, eye protection, and a dust mask. This product is an excellent value for the amount and quality of material at this price point. I'm sure you will be very pleased with its performance for whatever project you have.

Ceramic fiber insulation
This wasn’t a huge sheet of insulation or anything but I was putting together a feral cat house today and it was perfect for insulating that size project. I covered the exposed side with silver insulation so no kitties will get ceramic fibers in their fur. I’m no insulation expert but this seemed like good stuff. Thick. I just taped it into the house so it was easy to install-I didn’t have to cut it or anything. Hopefully this helps the cats, my area has had a rough winter and I feel so badly for the ferals.
