Great addition to any UCS collection
The build is a little repetitive when it comes to the wings.... But overall this is great ucs build.

I'm A Child Again!
What can I say? This thing just looks great! It's the first LEGO model I've built in a long time and the most complicated one by far (well, I did recently put some City buildings together for my daughter but this is in a totally different league). The box contains individual bags of bricks numbered one to twelve and a very comprehensive instruction book that also includes some information about the TIE Fighter ship as well as the model's design process. It took me two sessions to put it together. About two hours last night and another hour and a half this afternoon. It's about 30cm wide (between the wings) and 40cm tall. Like many of the other Ultimate Collector Series LEGO models, it comes with a stand to sit on that also has a place for the pilot to stand. On the stand, the ship can spin through 360 degrees so you can view it from all sides. The attention to detail is great. Inside the cockpit is a very cool looking chair, joystick controls and even a gun compartment. The pilot (who is unique to this set) doesn't tab on to the chair but he will go in the cockpit if you want to sit him in there. There is a dish shaped airlock door on the top of the cockpit that pulls open easily. It goes without saying that this is a model for display as opposed to playing with. It's pretty heavy and if you dropped it, it would smash into pieces (about 1,685 of them actually!) Also, if you try to fly it around (which I obviously had to have a go at, despite what I just said) your arm gets tired really quickly!I absolutely love this model and really recommend it for any fans of Star Wars, LEGO, or both together (which I am!) I also got the latest UCS X-Wing so I'll be putting that together soon and displaying them side by side!
