Pocket Ref

Was binge watching mythbusters where they were talking about this book and i had to get one. This will save your life.

This little (or not so little, yet still pocket sized, just) 'Pocket Ref' book has just SO much info in I'm staggered. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a 'go-to' quick look-up for anything and everything. Wondering how many mpg your car does? Or What to do if your friend has a alcohol poisoning? This book is so wide in it's spectrum of helpful, useful, knowledge, it's like asking Yoda! I gave it a 5 out of 5 because I always wanted to know so much that's contained in this book, and now I've found it! The only way to get more stuff into such a small compact space would be to throw it on a microchip. Yeah sure, technology is great, but when you're smart phone battery runs down, 'Pocket ref' will be there, right in your pocket, it WON'T let you down!

I can't believe I had never heard of this before, thanks Mythbusters. It covers everything you need to know about measurement and conversions.

I love fact & reference books & this pocket-sized & quite thick book is absolutely packed with pretty much any kind of information you could possibly ever need! It's American so, understandably, it is somewhat Americanised but there is still a huge amount of information that anyone the world over can make use of. The internet may not always be accessible, which is where this book becomes invaluable! :)

I really LOVE Pocket Ref. I also have the big Desk Ref at home but Pocket Ref is really great to keep in your pocket wherever you go. However, this thing keeps getting thicker and thicker. I have all editions so far and I really think it shouldn't have gotten any thicker than the 2nd edition. Of course, more information means more pages but I think the publisher should also consider the fact that this is a POCKET ref. This 4th edition doesn't sit comfortably in my pockets anymore, hence the 4 star rating.

A lot of the measurements are in imperial units, but it is still a great tool. Because it is a pocket guide the print is not the easiest to read, but that is more to do with my eyesight. I keep a credit card sized magnifying glass in the book so I can read it with ease.

amazing little book crammed full of obscenely detailed facts. You need good eyes to see the small print but there is always a compromise! You will be amazed at how addictive it is. Once you have surprised yourself with one fact, it is almost impossible to not search out for more and the search is never long as this little giant is bursting with geektastic information.

Written before the internet, but what happens when the internet goes down? This should be in every preppers bugout bag. That or it's just a cool book to own.

Ce petit livre est un "must have" pour tous les bricoleurs ou les curieux. Vous y trouverez un peu de tout, du bricolage aux premiers soins en passant par la liste des codes à 3 lettres des principaux aéroports... Votre bonheur s'y trouvera certainement. Par contre, l'anglais ne doit pas vous rebouter. En effet, ce petit livre n'est disponible que dans cette langue à ma connaissance.

Casi mil páginas de tablas, información útil y datos sobre todo de ingeniería y cultura general. Desde tamaños de cable de cobre hasta cómo identificar las nubes de tormenta. Hay un punto a tener en cuenta y es que muchas de las tablas están en medidas imperiales. Otras incluyen los datos en el Sistema Internacional. En todo caso es un libro estadounidense y así es como se ha escrito. Un manual curioso para llevar en la mochila o como guía de referencia si no tienes acceso a internet. **Nota: Esta es mi valoración personal por un producto adquirido con mi dinero. I bought used and got an original pocket ref that fits in any pocket, not a Xerox copy. Of course, everything is in freedom units. But the content is great. The copy I got is the second edition. It is very reliable. I have heard that newer editions have some errors. But I checked my copy and the errors aren't there.
