Needed a wand to get a feel on how to hold one for a story I was working on. Funny thing is, the one I got came with a dent in the middle of it, making it slightly crooked. Yeah, now the character is a dropout with a bent wand, which helps with the plot. The wand itself though, solid and thick. No hollow tubes here, guys :)

This replica is great reproduction of Sirius Black’s wand , it’s made from real wood and the carving’s on it are accurate, say that it is a bit long measuring at 15 inches where as the Harry Potter lore states is about 13 to 14 inches in length. The stain on the wand is not applied evenly on the wood and can be seen in the carvings , I personally don’t mind the as it gives it a weathered look. Over all I love it, would recommend this to any Potter fan.

For a real wooden wand under 25$ this sure is worth it! I've always wanted a lighter colored wand so I can appreciate the natural wood grain. The shaft is as thick as a AA battery and there is a good weight on the handle which gives it a good balance when handling the wand. I like the carved hook on the handle which keeps the wand from "flying" when we get carried away flicking the wand. There may be several ways to grip this wand with its unique handle shape. You could rest your pinky, middle finger or ring finger on the hook part (I personally find resting the ring finger most comfortable for me). And lastly, this wand doesn't look too sinister since its carving is inspired from Voldemort's wand. All in all, it is a beautiful wand by itself :)

Was surprised at the quality of the wand I received, it's very pretty to look at, and very much resembles the pictures, which is a little uncommon for costume stuff on here, I sort of expected it to be plastic, but it's definitely lathed and carved wood! It's very light and feels like it would be easy to break though so it's probably not best for kids who might decide to whack it around on things. Great for a wizardy costume, and very stylish~
